  1. Im so happy i am allowed caffeine. I was told to stay away from it if it makes me hungry. Ive been drinking tea and today I got a skinny vanilla latte from starbucks! But i do hope you get to have surgery on the 17th!!! Its my date too :-)
  2. I have been on the depo-shot for about 3 years now and havent had my period in about 2. Yesterday there was a bit of spotting and the only thing I can crack it up to be is because of the pre-op diet.
  3. My pre-op diet sounds just like yours! I read too much also and was like omg i wont be able to have surgery! All preop diets are different, some even get to eat low carbs high Protein (so jealous of those people). Some surgeons dont even require a preop diet. As long as your following what your dr told you too, I think you will be fine!
  4. ohh you havent had your preop appt! that explains it. lol well im allowed to eat mushies 8 days post op. so dont lose all hope yet!
  5. It depends on your surgeon. It amazes me that your surgery is so close and you have no idea what and when your allowed to eat what. My doctor allows me mushies the 2nd and 3rd week post op and then on to real food the 4th. I would call them up and find out.
  6. I called my doctors office... they told me its fine as long as im hitting my Protein goal.. but i was told to drink more Water... thanks guys :-)
  7. Im getting the daily amount of Protein im suppose to. If I drink 5 shakes a day I would be getting 150g of protein just from the powder alone. I was told that im allowed to add those things into my shakes... idk anymore :-/ ... guess ill just cross my fingers and see how it turns out monday.
  8. Theres no way I can eat 4-5 shakes a day and all the Water they want me to drink. I would be drinking all day and then to the bathroom every hour. Im hoping that losing the weight is shrinking my liver :-/
  9. I am on my 2 week pre-op diet and i have eaten one Protein shake with almond milk, a half banana, and a tablespoon of Peanut Butter and one bottle of diet snapple. I am finally getting hungry enough to want to have another shake soon. This is how its been for about 4 days now. Is it bad that im not eating more than this, im still dropping the weight daily. I just am no longer hungry.
  10. I have a 2 week all liquid diet. Before that i had about a week full of last Breakfast, lunches, and dinners! lol I gained 6 pounds doing that... i was mad, but ive lost it since.
  11. I dont get banded for a week but I joined!
  12. My surgeon told me when its time for mushies, mash potatoes would be good, but be careful once you are allowed to eat normal and done healing that you dont overdose on the mash potatoes, they arent that healthy for you!
  13. I understand where you are coming from. Although it doesnt seem as bad as yours, but I hate going out. I do go to school and work though, school sometimes suck when those little desks are in the room that i barely fit in! But I do hate going out anywhere because i always think people will be looking at me and judging me and talking about me. It has gotten worse since I knew I was getting this surgery, i seemed to also push everyone out of my life, telling myself that it doesnt matter now cuz one day ill be skinny and ill have lots of confidence and I can make new friends... It does suck and I wish I had something to make you feel better but I dont :-(
  14. My insurance pays 80% also and I am paying 2k out of pocket for the surgery and then whatever the hospital charges me.
  15. Good Luck! Keep us posted!
  16. Thanks guys! The first time the liquid diet has been tough was yesterday at mother days BBQ... i never wanted a salad and some grilled chicken so badly! haha Only one week left... just trying to stick with it and stay busy.
  17. It all depends on your income I believe. At the time I applied I applied for 4k and was only working part time at 10/hr. I was approved for that much, even though I only needed 2k. You dont need to accept it if you dont want to , but it wont hurt to see how much you can get approved for.
  18. Im getting banded the 17th too. I am so excited and nervous! I am ready to be done with this liquid diet!
  19. I told my mom. She told my brother, brothers gf, aunt, grandpa and grandma and then my grandma blabbed it last night to my uncle. I am ok with that because they will notice the way I am eating changes and that I am losing weight, I just wish I didn't have to hear the negative comments from them beforehand. I havent told my dad yet and I really dont have a reason for that, guess I am just scared to tell him. I also have told my best friends because even though they are friends, i still dont want to be judged if the weight doesnt come off as quickly as they are expecting it too. I start a new job a week after surgery so im just hoping they think im just losing weight once they see it happening. I feel that once I am 50 pounds shy of my goal weight I will tell people that I am close with how I did it, but until then I am going to keep it as private as I can
  20. I was worried about this too! One of my insurances requirements was that I have a 5-year over weight history. I asked my surgeons office if I needed to get proof and she told me no. I was still approved. If i was you, I would keep on them about it!
  21. it seems to work fine :-)
  22. I get banded on the 17th but I still am focusing on losing as much weight as possible. Count me in for 20!
  23. I used care-credit too for the 20% that my insurance wouldnt cover.
  24. I would give everything to do a low carb high Protein instead of all liquid. Its killer!! GOOD LUCK KERRI, Cant wait to hear an update!
