Oh really? Well maybe its time to go in and talk to your doctor and tell him/her what is going on and see if that will help any. If you post it in the post-op most of the people there have the band and maybe give you some tips. I cant help much with any tips, I dont get banded till 5/17 but I would be so excited to lose 50 pounds! That would be 1/3 of my goal. Look at the up side. Maybe change up your workout or eating habbits.

Has anyone have Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery. My surgeon now offers it and it sounds great, no scars! Has anyone gone threw this process, how do you like it?

Have you seen if your insurance will pay for it?

From what I read they will give you underwear to put on along with a pad from them... but im sure it depends on the hospital... Im pretty sure that area will be covered if your on your period!

I'm 22 yo Weight - 300 lbs (goal weight of ~150) Height - 5'7 Band Date - May 17th Location - Chicago area Outlook - Extremely optimistic also!! Our stats are pretty much the same your just a few inches shorter then me! Who is your surgeon , I know my surgeon has an office in OH.

This is really sad. You should be with someone that supports you! But maybe he is scared you are going to leave him when you get skinny, he sounds very insecure.

I really hope so, Im keeping my fingers crossed, esp cuz the one on my back is not even a year old!!!! haha

I have one on my foot and one on my upper back, which is the one I am worried about!!!! I guess I will have to keep my fingers crossed!! :eek:

I was scared.. I still am scared and I am getting banded on 5/17 but I have done my research and I know this is the best thing for me and my future! Ask all the questions you need to your dr and on these boards, do your research and make the best choice for you and your family!

It should be pretty fast if your self paying. The tests depend on your doctor.. I haven't taken any tests yet and my surgery date is 5/17. All i had to do was a 3 month diet and a phsych evaluation that was required by insurance. I started in January and I was approved last friday.

To anyone that has lost weight and had tattoos before hand: What do your tattoos look like now? Worse, better, totally ruined, the same?

I am 22 and I am getting banded 5/17. I have been overweight my whole life and nothing seems to work for me neither. Always remember that it is reversable if that is what you want but its a great tool you can use to keep the weight off for the rest of your life. And its ok to have kids with the band!! I cant put any insight into what its like living with the band because I am not banded yet, but I know this is what I want and I want to live the rest of my 20's happy!

I hope im ok to go to work in a week! I start a brand new job the week after surgery! New life for me! I didnt really have to do much to get approved.. a 3 month diet and a phsych evaluation. It ended up being like two months, i guess my insurance accepted that i visited my dr 3 times as long as it was in the different months.. so I kinda just sat back and waited...but I am a baby when it comes to pain so I am going to make it worth it!

Being anemic will stop you from surgery? Oh wow I didnt know that! I better take my iron pills cuz sometimes I am on the fence with that!!!!!

Nothing was ever mentioned to me about a pre-op diet.. so I will have to wait and find out!!
