I just set up my initial counseling session to learn about the procedure. Can anyone tell me what the typical timeline is from start to finish? Such as: how long must you wait before actually having the surgery since insurance isn't an issue I will be paying out of pocket. What pre-op procedures are required. . obviously the basics like blood work and stuff, but are sleep studies? Upper GI's?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It should be pretty fast if your self paying.

The tests depend on your doctor.. I haven't taken any tests yet and my surgery date is 5/17.

All i had to do was a 3 month diet and a phsych evaluation that was required by insurance. I started in January and I was approved last friday.
