  1. Congratulations, Kendra. 25 lb loss is wonderful. Remember to chew, chew, & chew. Have a nice time with your grandmother. Joyce
  2. Sharon - great to hear the fill was a breeze. I have my first one next Wednesday. Here's to success for all of us.
  3. Majj - Your possums are much, much cutier than in USA. Great pictures. We started this journey about the same time. You are braver than me, I have not tried a wrap. Fear still dictates much of what I try, but I know I need to branch out to learn to make friends with my band.
  4. Welcome - aniceto06. Lots of info on these boards. Join in. My surgery was the same day as yours. How are you doing?
  5. Before the surgery, I named the band - My Hero. After 5 weeks, I changed the name to My Friend - realizing that much of the work would still be mine. Hmmmm....... name of port. Have to think about that one.
  6. Kathy & Mist - I still have another week before my first fill. This is an interesting, challenging journey. We can and will be as successful as so many others that we see on this site. Good luck, ladies. Joyce
  7. Welcome Jason - lots of information here on the boards. Just take all understanding that everyone has an opinion and their own experience with the band. Read info from the Dr. and embrace one phase at a time. Check out all the success here - it will reinforce your decision to improve your health.
  8. Congratulations, Kendra. Glad it went so well for you. Now relax and let the healing begin. Joyce
  9. Kendra - the pain meds that I took before leaving the surgicenter made me hyper. I ran circles around the nurse at home until 10:30 pm and felt great. I didn't need the pain meds, nurse just suggested take them to make the ride home more comfortable. You will be just fine. Relax and welcome your band and new friends. We are all here for you.
  10. wow - congrats - way to go Enjoy that new body.
  11. Let us know how the fill goes tomorrow. I agree - crazy weather - love the sunshine today. Enjoy. Joyce
  12. Cynthia - Congratulations on being under 200. You are doing so well. Keep up the great work. Joyce
  13. I'm very interested. What day and time and which location? Joyce
  14. Kendra - yippee - you will be banded soon. Today was good practice. You will always eat differently than others. I went out to dinner tonight with ppl who do not know I've been banded. No one cares what we eat - they are enjoying their meal. Joyce
  15. 3dayslong - Lots of great support here, plus information. You have made a good decision for your life and health. Welcome. Joyce
  16. I'm also on Medicare - but chose a surgeon who did NOT accept it. So I was self-pay. However, I feel this band will help me return to health and vitality.
  17. Red - congrats - you are doing so well. With your very positive attitude, success is on the horizon for you. We will all work hard to embrace our dreams. Joyce
  18. Congrats - you are one your way. Clearly it sounds like you are very ready for this life change. Here's to your success. Joyce in KC
  19. Kendra - You are on your way. Good job on pre-op diet and loss. At the shower, just say your tummy is a bit upset. They will all be fine with that. You are making the right decision. Joyce
  20. JDT3 - Relax and welcome the band into your body. Everyone has these fears the night before and we are all happy we went thru the fear into the light. JC in KC
  21. I'm 5 weeks post-op and can drink shakes and Water as if there was no band. So don't worry about that. Don't look back - look forward. We can NOT allow ourselves to become too hungry. A yogurt, Protein shake, even Jello or popsickle might "calm the dragon" hunger. You need to call your surgeon and confess and put your mind at ease. You'll feel better, after you talk to him/her.
  22. Go to CP User at the top of the home page and (on the left side) edit signature. Hope that helps you.
  23. I agree - another informative video. Thanks for sharing it. Joyce
