  4. Pookie - sending strength and support for your decision. Sounds like a well thought out decision.
  5. Relative to pain meds, the nurse @ the surgicenter recommended I drink pain meds for drive home. That was the only pain med I needed.
  6. This is a safe place to vent. The release helps to avoid eating our problems away. Take care of yourself. It is unreasonable to expect to "hold up" the whole family. Focus on YOU. Good luck, sweetie
  7. Welcome KS_. Lots of friends here to support you. Oldone - Savers is @ 95th & Nall. Thrift stores and consignment stores are also an affordable resource. Don't want you arrested for public exposure.
  8. I use it and love it. chocolate only. Here is my recipe - blender add small amount of chipped ice, one cup skim milk, 4-5 frozen strawberries, 2 scoops of powder and 1/4 cup Water. Blend. It is thick and I eat it with a spoon. Feel like Thanksgiving dinner when I finish it and full for 4 hours after. Good luck - hope this helps.
  9. oldone - you brought a smile. And congrats on wl and inches off. Savers has good prices for "along the way" clothes.
  10. Congrats, Kathy. You go girl.
  11. Old One - love your sense of humor. Way to go on 2 lb loss in 2 weeks. We will chip away until success is ours. Good work. Joyce
  12. panfisher - you are doing great. Keep up the good work. Mujer - I still drink Protein shakes each morning - 27 grams Protein Sometimes I add a ta. Peanut Butter for more protein 4 oz. salmon, chicken, tuna salad, chicken salad - one of these for lunch and one for dinner Journal to be sure you are getting 75 grams or more of protein daily. That will help with the hair loss. Are you drinking your Water? Ice tea, crystal light? cytomax is a Protein Drink you might try too - 40 grams Your loss is wonderful, keep it up
  13. Great, Ang. Please pass on what you learn for all of us. Joyce
  14. I'm not an expert on the healing, but I have read how important it is to allow proper healing. My therapist recommended a book written by Terry Simpson, MD - Weight Loss Surgery, A lighter look...at a Heavy Subject. I use it for reference. You will not have much restriction until after the fills begin.
  15. Ang - try to stay on protein shakes and sip water. Healing at this time is so important and you want the pouch to remain small. After fills, you are also required to be on liquids for a couple days, so consider this practice.
  16. Welcome Lisa - let us know how you are doing? Joyce
  17. Hi Kendra & Peaches Kendra - sorry to hear you were uncomfortable. I agree with Peaches, You CAN stay under 300 and continue to lose. Peaches has shown us and we can do it too. Joyce
  18. Non scale victory - NSV congrats, sweetie. Take your measurements and record them. Our journey results are not always reflected on the scale. Way to go. Keep up the great work. Joyce
  19. Peaches - you are to be congratulated. The band is only a tool and you obviously are using it perfectly. Joyce
  20. Welcome makeing.a.change & Bandmom. Happy to see you see. Sorry to hear support is during work hours for you. Lots of info here on the forums. Making - let us know when you get a date and start your pre-diet. Jump in and enjoy our group. Joyce
  21. Kendra - Are you using www.mylapbandjourney.com to follow your success. It is referred to in the literature Malley's office provided. There may be a place to record measurements in there, as well as a graph to show you your weight loss - inspiring. Keep you, sista.
  22. Hi Kendra - let us know how you are progressing. Have you taken measurements? I notice when scale slows, inches continue to shrink.
  23. Tweety - I try to stay on liquids for 24 hrs. after an episode. The band is aggravated. Then proceed with caution - very small bites and chew thoroughly. We want this to work - use our tools carefully.
  24. Tweety - PB is productive burp and slime occurs when the food refuses to go down and body secrets "slime" to help. When a bander vomits, the food is covered in this slime - I find it helps the food to move out. Forgot to congratulate the lady who is pregnant. Best wishes. Northern Mist - welcome to the club. It is a learning experience and part of the journey. My third fill did the job for me - I feel I'm at sweet spot too. I asked for conservative fills on #2 and #3. Honestly reviewing your food with your doctor will help guide him/her. Congrats on your progress.
