Hi Michele, Congratulations this is a SUCCESS STORY. I can relate to what you said about "high blood pressure, high cholesterol, was on 2 different types of pain pills for my back and knee and was on a CPAP machine for Sleep Apnea." I am only seven week post op. I am doing well. I have lost about 48 pounds to date, I have over 100 to loose. I am trying to use the band as a tool. Now that I am feeling better, I go to the gym and exercise and that is making me feel even better. I never thought I would say I like exercise. When did you get off the C pap machine I am so interested in getting rid of that. Thanks so much for sharing. Kathy imaluckydog
  2. Hi, I am seven week post op. I still feel NEW. I had so many questions like you when I started my journey DOWN stream. I found myself reading every blog out there. I agree with elcee above. On the FOURM pages click on post op and post a question and people will respond to your specific question. This is a way to get your answer rather quickly. You are able to check back and see it others have posted to your question. Lots of information there. Also make friends with people and ask them to be friends with you. You can send private messages to others if you wish. Tons and tons of info on this site almost overwhelming. I know there are other sites out there but I have only used this one. I have had so much success in my past seven weeks and I have never been happier in my life. It took me almost two weeks to fully recover so take your time and follow your orders to the letter for your own safety and health. Best wishes and if you have any specific question I can try to help, just ask. imaluckydog Kathy
  3. Life is but a Dream!!! Row, Row, Row, your boat gently down the stream... Merrily, Merrily, Merrily, life is but a DREAM...... I am happily seven weeks post op. I have had some very, very, very good days and only two days I care to forget!!! I went to the Nutritionist today and the first thing she did was weigh me. Yippee DOWN, DOWN, DOWN. She even had the nerve to ask me if I was eating. I told her I was and that it takes me about 45 minutes to eat. Yes, I do belong to SWA. (Scale Whore Anonymous) You must know that club??? Well I am the member that weighs her shoes at home on a fish scale, so I know how much to take off when I get there. I am on the better than average weight loss track she said to me. That must mean I am doing well!!! I feel WELL!!!!! I guess that means I’m DOWN my stream just a little more than everyone else!!!!! I am DOWN but not enough for my head. I wanted MORE.. I tell you MORE..... Going Down my stream has been a DREAM, yes I am singing Merrily along. I get my next fill August 26, so I will Row, Row, Row my boat a little faster now. I am so close to wonderland/onederland but not DOWN enough. My goal is to be DOWN there by August 26. Going to the GYM in the AM to get the old body moving. I am going everyday now to the gym. Switching up the time of day may help me move faster down my stream. I must admit I feel so much better today and I am enjoying the gifts of Happiness. I am allowing myself to feel the breeze in my face as I Merrily roll down my STREAM. imaluckydog who is not afraid to swim.

DISCRIMINATION at it's best!!! You handled it well. I think this STUPID, INSENSITIVE, JUDGMENTAL, instructor should have their mouth washed out with my pooh!!! Just who do they think they are?????? I am so proud of you not only for standing up and being so mature BUT to report that persons smelly pie hole. If you could you should give that person a piece of your mind, the strength to put closure to it and confront this person and make sure they will never talk about you to anyone else again. Heck you will be working out there again and this kind of discrimination needs to end. NOW!! If this is a respectable place no one should speak about anyone like that to anyone else!! Can you tell I've got my hair raised on my back. You have just hit a sore spot for me. I have chosen not to tell anyone except my close family and I feel you have sealed my lips forever. I want to join and GYM and no way do I want anyone talking about me. You did the right thing to report them. We are on a very hard journey and it is no less hard than anyone else. Best wishes and you will be in my thoughts to day. imaluckudog KATHY

I am only 7 weeks post op and only had one fill. I have felt full and after the fill I got stuck a few times. Your blog is impressive. You should be very proud of your success. Thanks for sharing. I hope I have as much success. Thanks imaluckydog
  9. I also had THREE meals from One Dinner. I enjoyed dinner out last night. The dress I really wanted to wear FIT OMG!!! I looked and felt great. I took food home, I had it for lunch and again for dinner tonight. No I do not get sick of food I love to eat. I love not having to cook. Thanks for sharing. imaluckydog

I am at the same point. Go slow, REAL slow with the food that is. I found that the restriction does not kick in until 3 to 4 days after the fill. When it does you may only be able to eat less. It took me almost 45 minutes to finish a meal that is how slow I have to go. I must say I am feeling so much better. I have been following your blog. I was banded June 29. Thanks for sharing. imaluckydog
  11. Yes it did get easier for me. The head hunger is for sure the worst part for me. I just keep saying to myself "eat less to weigh less" I have been physically full since I got banded. My stomach does make sounds but that does not mean I am hungry. I must go very slow and remember to drink the water. Best wishes and I can relate. I was only banded 7 weeks ago. Time has gone by so fast. Good luck imaluckydog

I never want to leave food on my plate I just love food. I almost want to cry because I just love to eat that much. I sure do know what I ate before LB LOL Now I can eat about half cup of food so I choose my foods very carefully. Taste is so important to me. If it tastes good I can have the rest for another meal. imaluckydog today a happy one I eat less to weigh less. Thanks for sharing. Kathy
  13. what your heart has once owned it will never loose, Best wishes we can do this together. imaluckydog
  14. Hi, I had the same thing happen to me last evening. Going out to dinner for a very nice dinner and I did not want to look like a slob. I had this dress I took to the dry cleaners many moths ago. I was hoping it would fit. It was like a surprise that it did. I too have now lost over 40 lbs. I am only 7 weeks post op and feel great. I can even say I looked good last night. I was so psyched. I just love how I am feeling these days. Thanks for sharing. imaluckydog
  15. Hi, I had a hiatal too and during the LB surgery they will take care of it. It is no biggy.. My Dr. said he sees a lot of them. I did not even know I had one!!!, he fixed it while he was in there. I had had a larger hernia he fixed two months before I had LB. I got my LB on June 29 and had my first hernia surgery in April. I am 7 weeks post op and have never felt better in my life. Good Luck and Best wishes. imaluckydog

  17. I survived. I wanted to eat everything. It was soooo hard. I brought in my enzymes and did not need them Thank God! Got all dressed up and I "ate small to be small" Took my time and waited in between bites. Hard to do VERY hard to do. Thanks for the advice it sure did help me tonight. I feel great, I looked GREAT. I even had room for the fresh fruit for dessert. Yes, I had to have the whipped cream. It was wonderful. I was worried and I made out just fine and I even have lunch for tomorrow. imaluckydog to have a friend like you

It's over!!! Congratulations. The recovery is so much better at home. I just hated the hospital. I had a good hospital experience but I felt so much better when I got into my own bed. The first week is a bummer not going to lie, it really does get better. Just follow all the rules and I'd say you will be up and around in no time. Best wishes. imaluckydog
  20. BG Great blog!! I love Dining out....I am going out to dinner tonight. Yippee, I am going to remember to take the smallest bites possible and chew to beat the band. I have had a ton of restriction after my first fill. I am doing so much better now, than a few days ago. I have been keeping to softer foods and not taking any chances. I do not like the "you know what" feeling at all. I so can identify with not wanting to leave a good bite of food on my plate, I just want to eat it so badly. But after I take the bite I am so so so sick it just sort of ruins the meal for myself. Thanks so much for sharing and have a nice day. Kathy imaluckydog
  21. My husband came around after he was better informed. My guy was sorta the same way. Long story short. I was banded June 29 lost almost fifty pounds and husband is very excited. We even went for a bike ride this morning. Best wishes and good luck all will work out. imaluckydog

Keep it up you have made GREAT choices. My Doctor said to loose wt. before LB because it makes the surgery and recovery better. They also need to be able to stay clear of the liver during surgery. I have lost almost fifty now after surgery. I was banded June 29 not even two months. I got on a bike and rode around town which is something I have not done in 15 years. Eat small to be small that is my thinking these days. Good luck and best wishes to you on your LB journey. imaluckydog

Hi, My husband is home and I have only been banded since June 29 I have already lost 47 plus pounds. He and I just got back from a bike ride. I have not been on a real bike outside riding in at least 15 years. You will amaze yourself as I have been. I have never been happier in my entire life the pounds are melting off!! Congratulations and best wishes to you. It is a surprising journey I must say. ENJOY, Kathy imaluckydog
  24. By all means if you are still having this call the doctors ASAP BG is correct on that. The enzyme may mask a real problem if it keeps coming back. I went running back and I am glad I did. I just need to change kinds of proteins and eat earlier. Keep in touch. Kathy imaluckydog

Welcome to LB! You are well on your way now my friend. I needed almost two weeks to really feel better I do not do well after surgery. I did get up and walk around as much as I could that helps so much. I was banded June 29 not that long ago. Although I am at least 47 pounds down I weigh in on Wednesday next week and I am sure I am down even more. Follow all nurses and Drs. orders to the letter and your recovery will go smoothly as mine did. I found drinking the water the hard part. I never liked water. I drink decaf iced tea and that works for me. I have no idea how anyone could go back to work after 3 days? I took two weeks off and I needed it mentally too. I have had my challenges as will you we are all learning to eat less to weigh less here. It is all about working with your tool the band. Best wishes and if you have any questions I will be glad to help. Have a nice day. imaluckydog Kathy
