Musings on Monday (except it's Tuesday)
I tried pop corn. Go slow I did not have more than 1 cup and it even had a little real butter on it. I air popped it myself. I did ok with it no problems. I also had a craving for it I just chewed it really well and savored the flavor. Now I do not crave it anymore. NICE. I think Gray's starts soon, my daughter just loves that show. I have not given my band much though lately either people think I am nuts eating so slow. I just tell them that is what my nutritioist has suggested so now it is a habit. I have not told anyone. I love the complements too Think about my band buddy everyday. Love Kathy imaluckdog

Should I be concerned?
You can do this put your mind to what is the most important to you. Your health RIGHT??????? You know what it is you need to do I know you can do it. I also know four people who were in my psych group who were unable have surgery and their dates were changed. That was so sad for them. Your Dr. needs to stay away from your liver this is true. Having this done was the best thing I have ever done for myself. It works well if you work well with your band. Best wishes and keep us posted. imaluckydog Kathy

Week 5
I will not eat cottage cheese. I cannot stand the way it feels in my mouth. I know it has a ton of protein but YUK... I can eat just about anything I want too. If I chew it well. It must take me 30 to 40 minutes to eat. So my food get cold. I do not drink with meals. I have a hard time with and do not eat white or soft bread or bagels of any kind. I love eggs now and love greek yogurt as well. I was banded 11 weeks ago and have had 2 fills. I must say I am kinda tight. I am not sure if I am at what some call a sweet spot yet. Best wishes. imaluckydog Kathy

9/8/09 Into the Great Unknown
Hi BG, Let me just say you are NOT an "idiot". You are far from it. I am so inspired by you on a daily basis I sometimes read your blog more than once. I am so tight with 5 cc in my 10 cc band I pushed back my next fill date appointment. I know everyone is different and I do PB more frequently now if I do not chew, chew, chew to beat the band. I also need to eat food that is more moist or I get that stuck feeling as well. I am imagining my doctor will only give me about .5 cc on my next visit. I still have not got on the scale thats the hardest part. I have to wait until Oct. 5. I can feel my body go up and down in weight but not by much. Recently, I have set up both my young adults in college. I am lucky they go to the same school, The University of Vermont. It is fun and easy when my husband and I go to visit. One stop shopping I say. Good luck with all your other appointments. imaluckydog Kathy

Newbee with first blog
Hi, I was banded June 29 just one month ahead of you. It sure is a learning sort of journey for me. I have had my second fill and I have 5 cc in a 10 cc band already. I have a lot of restriction at this point in my journey. I pushed back my third fill because I do not eat that much now and what I do eat takes me about 30 minutes to do so. I really enjoy the food I put into my mouth now even though it gets cold. You are losing well too. I have lost 50 pounds and I go back to weigh in on October 5th. I am sure I have lost more. I do not own a scale and that is a good thing. Blogging can be fun. hope to hear from you again. imaluckydog

Why am I afraid to reach my goal weight?
Yes, you do need time to enjoy the journey. That is for sure. It sure is an amazing one for me!! I know exactly what you are saying. I feel I do not want to be noticed either. I stand in the back and I am surprised when someone does an act of kindness toward me. It is a NEW experience. The hardest thing for me has been my larger friends do not talk to me anymore. I walk up to them and start conversations and they back away and leave me standing all by myself. I was hurt at first, I have always felt safe with them and now I am more safe in my blogging. I am becoming a NEW person. Somedays I like it other days I am not sure. It will take time for my head to catch up with it all. I have lost 50 pounds and have at least 50 more to go. I am playing well with my band these days. Thanks for sharing. imaluckydog Kathy

Pre-Op Anxiety
Best wishes, It will all work out for you and your family. Make sure they chip in and help you out. The pain is not that bad and the recovery will be at least two days. You may be sore and will need to heal. Let us know how you are doing. I was banded June 29 it seems so long ago two fills and 50 pounds later. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am working hard to play with my band now. Good Luck imaluckydog
