This may help weight loss.
Thanks I'm listening!! Good Luck to YOU!!! I get my third fill Oct 5. I have been pretty tight I must say. I have made a few poor choices this summer and not chewed as much as I should have. I am going to slow down and make time for myself to do the exercises. I am going to chew, chew, chew to beat the band. You are a busy lady. I am NOT telling work colleagues either and when they ask I say exactly what you said "portion control and exercise" Yup that works for me too. Yippee for us. I have only told my husband, daughter, son, and sister who had GBP nine years ago. Have a super year and I know you will loose you have a great attitude. imaluckydog Kathy

Let's Play MONOPOLY
Do YOU know how to play Monopoly???? It has been so hard for me these past few weeks since my last fill, lets face it. I have been having a hard time with that, "One BITE too many syndrome". I just PB'd because I ate to fast. It was the Good food the protein kind. But when I eat too darn fast there is a learning curve. You know what I am talking about don't you???? Unfortunately I AM a very SLOW LEARNER :-( It was my 4th bite and I had to run not walk to the rest room!!! I did not pass GO or collect 200 dollars either!! My fourth bite. I am hungry now. This Band has a MONOPOLY on my stomach.. I need to learn how to play well with my band. May be I need to make flash cards and study them so I will remember how to do what I am allowed to do. I will not win if I keep playing this way. I know I am not alone either.... I feel the restriction but I am hungry and want to eat good food. I forget to chew and it makes matters unfavorable. My next Dr. appointment is not until October 5th. I pushed the appointment back because I am feeling tight enough right now. I am trying to stay positive but I need to learn how play Monopoly quickly. I want to buy PARK PLACE!! Not sure if this has helped anyone but it has helped me to refocus on what it is I need to do. I do not want to gain and I will not get weighed until Oct 5. I am going to make a ricotta pie for dinner tonight Thanks for the recipe my friend. Thanks for playing with me. imaluckydog Kathy Love, Life, Lilly, and the Pursuit of Happiness

Weight Gain and PBs

eating
My suggestion would be to go slow and soft foods at first and chew chew chew to beat the band take small bites of the foods you like. I only eat what tastes good to me. I will eat oatmeal but dislike cream of wheat. I never liked yogurt and now I love the greek style and I just found a Cabot brand yogurt with 14 grams of Protein. I make sure I eat the protein first. I am 10 weeks post surgery and I still eat the protein first. I am more tight in the AM and all I can tolerate is coffee until my tummy wakes up around 10-am. Then I have a small amount of food, eggs, yogurt with fruit, a fruit smoothy and eat it slowly. Lunch is fish, chicken, edamame, eggplant parm or with zucchini mostly soft foods. I have three meals a day and never want to eat in between. I do have a problem because I always want to eat more than I can at a meal time. So when I take that one BITE TOOOOOO many OMG. I feel it. I have to start to listen to my body more when I am eating. Also a meal can last for 30 minutes I have to eat really slow. I have had two fills and I have some really good restriction going on now. I drink water or iced tea all day but NEVER with a meal. I am very happy and I have lost 50 pounds. imaluckydog

I have only told my husband, son 21, Daughter 19, and sister who had G B Pass nine years ago. I am not telling anyone none of their business. I do not want to talk about it, only here I feel safe. I did not even tell my mother she thinks I just had female issues and everything is all better now!!! Keep it to yourself if that is what you want. Best wishes for a great start. imaluckydog June 29 was my band date and I have lost 50 pounds I am HAPPY

fills and weigh ins.....
I do not own a scale I think about weighing myself all the time. I am a scale whore because I think about it daily. I get weighed at the Dr.'s office when I go in every 4 to 5 weeks. I have to try not to get on a scale if I encounter one!!!! LOL My first fill was five week after surgery. imaluckydog

Preparing for surgery
Best wishes to you. I have only had good feelings so I might not have any not so happy results. If I would think of one it will be easing back on to food after a fill has been the hardest part for me. I get stuck and it is my own fault. I tend to eat too darn fast and I need to slow myself down a lot....... I have made a few blogs and my history is similar to yours took me about a year to agree to this lap band. Then went in for surgery early. I have been banded 2 months and have taken off 50 pounds. I am very excited and I try to work well with my band as a tool for wt.loss. I am not under 200 lbs. yet but it is a matter of time. Good Luck and hope you have a happy journey. imaluckydog

Questions, anxious, looking for some support
Hi I get stuck all the time. It is not a very good feeling at all you are right about that. I even got stuck tonight. I have to eat more slowly and take smaller bites and let the food go in me slowly!!! I am just trying to remind myself so it will not happen again. It happens to many. You will find that you will be able to eat certain foods and maybe not others it is a trial and error thing. Did your Dr. give you the food list? That is sort of important. I hope you feel better and I do not think you hurt anything but always check with your Dr. Best wishes imaluckydog

This is new
Wow I had that happen, twice. I found I had to wait a good seven minutes before I took another bite. I am wondering if it is a muscle thing? I just need extra time in between swallows. I even chewed even more. If it happens again I am calling my doctor that is for sure. It is scary huh!!! imaluckydog

One of the longest week of my life!!
You have a lot on your plate. Try to keep the focus. Stay calm and it all will happen in due time. It is so exciting the LB journey I must say. I got banded a month early I only had two days to prepare my self and my head. It was a nightmare for real. A spot opened up on a Monday and I was asked on a Friday if I wanted the spot!!! Heck Ya!!!!! It is so worth all the effort you have to go thru. We are all here for you so let us know how you are doing. Best wishes and Happy moving. imaluckydog

scared of dr finding
Oh I had nightmares. No kidding. I did have a hernia but the Dr. said it is common place and many people do not know they have them. He fixed mine and I never had any problems. You are not alone, Good luck and rest up after your surgery. Can't wait to hear from you again. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. imaluckydog

2nd fill today
Hello, I got my second fill yesterday. Wow!! I was told I had to do a liquid / soft only for 48 hours after the fill. I am surprised that berries and cheese you could eat? Any way before the fill I was also eating way more than I though I should. I still lost weight go figure. You are right the exercise helps so much. Have a great day;-) I love playing with the band. imaluckydog
