imaluckydog LAP-BAND Patients September 5, 200916 yr Author stats My suggestion would be to go slow and soft foods at first and chew chew chew to beat the band take small bites of the foods you like. I only eat what tastes good to me. I will eat oatmeal but dislike cream of wheat. I never liked yogurt and now I love the greek style and I just found a Cabot brand yogurt with 14 grams of Protein. I make sure I eat the protein first. I am 10 weeks post surgery and I still eat the protein first. I am more tight in the AM and all I can tolerate is coffee until my tummy wakes up around 10-am. Then I have a small amount of food, eggs, yogurt with fruit, a fruit smoothy and eat it slowly. Lunch is fish, chicken, edamame, eggplant parm or with zucchini mostly soft foods. I have three meals a day and never want to eat in between. I do have a problem because I always want to eat more than I can at a meal time. So when I take that one BITE TOOOOOO many OMG. I feel it. I have to start to listen to my body more when I am eating. Also a meal can last for 30 minutes I have to eat really slow. I have had two fills and I have some really good restriction going on now. I drink water or iced tea all day but NEVER with a meal. I am very happy and I have lost 50 pounds. imaluckydog
jojocath LAP-BAND Patients September 8, 200916 yr Author stats Lots of water, chicken broth, jello. First week not fun. I am at the end of my second week and have started eating Lipton soup. Love the taste and tolerating well. I did try mashed potatoes last night and I think that was a mistake. Could not sleep all night. Not ready for that yet. Starting Thursday is the beginning of my third week. My diet protocol is for pureed foods for 3rd and 4th week. Told my doctor I could not stand looking at pureed food. He said I could stay on the full liquid but not to move to soft foods until the diet allowed. I think he is right. I see him on Friday for my first post-op visit.
