Should I be concerned?

My surgery date is Monday Sept. 21st,2009. I was told to go on a low carb diet about a week ago and ate what I wanted over the weekend. My pre-op appointment( 9/8/09) where I sign concent forms, speak with dietician etc, etc.,I missed the appointmet. So, I am going on Tuesday Sept. 15th, 2009 to do pre-op paper work and everything else. I have been sneaking carbs in about 15-25 grams per day. I need to lose 10lbs in one week. Will I have to drink protein shakes or what should I do? I have seven days.:yikes::thumbup:

There is a woman on this site who went in for her surgery and was unable to have it done because her liver was too big. That's the reason for the pre-op diet. It is possible your doctor won't do the surgery if you haven't lost the weight he or she asked you too. Good Luck! I hope it all works out for you.

You can do this put your mind to what is the most important to you. Your health RIGHT??????? You know what it is you need to do I know you can do it. I also know four people who were in my psych group who were unable have surgery and their dates were changed. That was so sad for them. Your Dr. needs to stay away from your liver this is true. Having this done was the best thing I have ever done for myself. It works well if you work well with your band. Best wishes and keep us posted. imaluckydog Kathy
