I am a new guy here so bear with me.....

I am day 8 into the liquid diet. It sucks big time. Oh well that is the way things goe it seems. i confess i just cheated---i ate 3 slices of cucumber and onions and 4 carrotts. big deal (i hope)i started this journey when i stepped on the scales and saw the numbers 460 lbs. i said to myself that i was gonna die, be crippled or loose weight. started working out at a gym and got on the Lap Band program. i am down to 399--never thought a 3 would look sooooo good. i feel so much better and heck--i am sill a jolly, happy guy. There is just less of me. the band is gonna be "installed" on the 16th. the surgery does not bother me as much as the "what if i cant hang " thoughts. i know i can do it but it is just hard to think of success given a lifelong struggle with the weight. reading these posts has given me a bit of support and i hope i can be of support to others.

BTW i can spell. it is my keyboard that cant spell and does not always(usually) use that caps/shift key. sorry if anyone gets offended. havent looked at enuff posts to see if the grammar/spelling police are alive and well on this blog. if they are, we might not get along too well unless they have a good sense of humor.

You only had qcumber and onion... instead of what you would usually chow down on.... Small changes make big changes. I always say I didn't have my brain banded. Goodluck on the 16th. no spelnlg police here. lol

I am sick of slimfast and bullion and jello!!!! i made what my kids called "slap it in your pocket jello"--add a couple of packets of plain gelitanto the jello and it gets like gumy bears--to have something to chew on. i so badly miss chewing on a piece of meat!!! all the stuff i am supposed to eat is sweet. now i love sweets but give me a hunk of cake or a half a pie or a dinner plate sized cinnamon roll and i am in.lol anyway...i am so glad i found this site.you guys rock!!! thanks for the kind words and encouragement.
