Hang in there. I don't know much about lifting as I have been overweight and obese for as long as I can remenber. The band has been a life saver. I just completed a year at my goal weight and abdominoplasty to rid myself of the excess skin. I couldn't be happier. My only regret is that I didn't do it earlier. Best of luck to you.

Another Texan here. I am in the Dallas area. Was banded almost 2 years ago.
  6. Glad your continuing to do well. I wish I had my lap-top at the hospital. I got real bored in there for 4 days. The swelling is all over. It gets better, I promise  I hadn't seen you post over on makemeheal. i hope its ok, I told them things went well and you would post when you were up to it. I posted in the February thread.
  7. Ok, some updated pics: Here is an old pic that I found a week post op from my lapband surgery. I took it for the scar thread on LBT. Notice how my belly hangs over the sink and where my scars are compared to where they are now.
  8. Wow, you look increadible!!!!. I can't tell you how happy I am for you. I had the exact same pain pump because I have the same black bag with that logo
  9. Hang in there. I had the exact same thing - low grade fever and low BP. They kept me 2 extra nights, but it was nothing bad. Sounds like you doing well.
  10. What meds did you get? I was given liquid Hydrocodone, a muscle relaxer, and a liquid antibiotic.
  11. Good luck. I have to agree, the MR was much worse than the inscission pain. It felt like I did a million sit ups. Best of luck.
  12. Hey Amy, I am a little slow lol. I have been following your progress on makemeheal.com and it never occured to me this was you. Like I said, I am a little slow. I posted over their how great you look and wanted to second that here. Great results. Good to know there are other Lap Banders over there. I know there is me, Nina, LJM and you. Congrats
  13. Glad things went well! So happy and proud of you! Let the medication be your friend and I speak from experience that the pain will subside soon enough. Take care and rest.
  14. Great to hear! Mine came out yesterday and your right - its such a relief. Congrats. Glad all is healing well for ya
  15. Congrats. Your doing great. I understand, the old demonds die hard don't they?
  16. My Dr said I was done a week after my drains came out. I did go buy some Under Armour athletic compression shirts and shorts to wear afterwards. I think I need it to feel more comfortable
  17. THinking of you today. God's speed
  18. I took the pain pump out about 6 or 7 days post op. My Dr said i could do it. The tubes are very thin and not stitched in, just taped on.
  19. I just got back from my 2nd post op appointment and got my drains out. What a relief. It didn't hurt at all, but felt very strange. I got a little twinge up near my ribs. Its hard to believe the tubes went from my thighs up to near my ribs. The Dr said one mor eweek in the binder. Normally she wants 3 weeks, which would be Monday, but she wants me to wear it one week post drains to makes sure everything comes together and no pockets form to collect fluid. I can handle one more week

  21. Hey buddy! It finally your time! I am so proud of you. If I don't see you on here before you head out in the morning, I am wishing you the best and hope you have a speedy recovery.
  22. Getting clse now. Hope your trip goes well
  23. Sending good thoughts your way  I saw on the other thread that you woke up early and couldn't sleep. I know the nerves are kicking in at this point. You talked about freaking out your in laws. Thats great. I hope you get the same look on your face that my wife says I did when I first looked down and saw my results. She said it was priceless. Wishing you a quick and illness free week
  24. I am actually doing pretty good now. Its funny, they send a physical theripist in to see me the morning after surgery to check out my movement and to get me up to walk. They said I did great "for a guy". They said men usually have a much harder time post op. I don't know why, but I guess its true. As to whether I would do it all over again. Not to scare anyone thinking of doing it, the 2nd and 3rd day I have to admitt that I sat in bed wondering what the hell I had done to myself and wished I could have a do over. But if you ask me now, I have to say I would do it again in a heartbeat. I love the results and the pain is temporary.
