Vitamins
The problem with children's Vitamins are there is too much Vitamin A for adults over the long haul. What did your nutritionist/Dr's office suggest you take?

Stacy, I was done at OSU. Dr. Mikami is my surgeon, Dr. Needleman is very nice. The process is a long one, just jump through the hoops and you'll be recovering in no time. Come meet us in February at Polaris Mall! It's the 9th at 2, (I think-Heather check me). We'd love to meet ya!

Bathing Suits?!
I might try Target then. I really don't want to order on line just because I'm bad about returning things and this is going to take some trial and error. Thanks gals for all the suggestions. You're great.

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Thanks BG, I'm a daily weigher, which I know can be bad, but I've made peace with it. I lost another one this morning! I'm happy but skeptical that it's not real. Because I did plateau for a long while while I wasn't being strict with my food I feel now that I'm strict it's coming off again. But it's been alot in a short amount of time...w00t w00t.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered Bandsters
Pamela, It's going to be so sweet when S moves home for good! You've got to be buggin' out of your mind about that. A is talking of getting a job in Chicago and buying a place in Columbus with me. Coming home to me on the weekends and being with her mom in Chicago during the week. It's a couple years away but has be dreaming already... When I'm good about food, which I'm just getting back to, I eat about 1300-1400 calories a day. I've been drinking the water religously and working out like a maniac. I'm really trying to see 190 by my band surgery anniversary. It's a stretch goal, but I'm keeping my head down and holding my breath between here and there. My weight loss slowed way down from October to January. Too many holidays, too much resting on my past success, or something. Anyway, that's what I'm up to now, to answer your question. School is rocking for me. Starting my MBA program this week. The kiddo is good. XO to you and everyone else on this thread. Love ya, my family!

You are not going to bloody believe this... i swallowed a fly today!
You know you could swallow a spider to catch the fly. It might wiggle and jiggle and tickle inside ya. But then there would be the bird, cat, dog, goat, cow and horse --of course.

Bathing Suits?!
Show of hands, who has tried on bathing suits since losing weight? I think it's the idea I had as a size 30 that when I got to a size 18 that there would be more choices (which there are) and that automatically equals a better ability to dress (which it doesn't). It is because either the suits are vampish, way expensive like $90, printed with bright giant flowers or matronly. All I want is a black suit that's not got leg holes cut up to my ribs, that's not so deeply cut in the front you see the swell at the top of my stomach, that doesn't tug or dig and doesn't have a granny skirt that's hard as hell to swim in. And I don't want to pay two arms for it either. It was easier at times to buy a tent, when the only concern was is there enough material here to keep me covered than it is to find stuff that fits. I know much of it is my oddly shaped body and also this image of me at 18 as a size 18 and me at 39 as a size 18. The intervening years were not kind. And it certainly doesn't help that it's January and 15 degrees outside. The suits are few and far between, but I'm taking the DD to an indoor swimming pool and my old suit is way too big.

Do many people lose some but not all their excess?
My two cents. You get what you give. If you want to lose 100% of your weight then you will. You need to keep that focus and not settle and you need to do everything in your ability to reach that goal. It is ENTIRELY up to the individual. When my doc told me the stats of 40 to 60% weight loss, I told him I'd be the one on the tip of the bell curve, two deviations from the norm. I've not lost that focus. You too can be on that part of the curve if you want. And yeah, I'm not there yet, but I'm at -60% of my excess weight and it's not been a year since surgery.

I am so darned determined!
That's an attitude that will make you successful. never give up!

Make 33 has a great strategy. Find out who in your college town is supported by your insurance and never see that doctor you saw again. There are many ways to solve a problem. Don't give up!!!

Self Sabotage-Anyone else
To piggy back on the other comments. Put that behavior behind you and do as you are told. You have the rest of your life to eat solid foods. This is just a small window of time. Get some perspective on the situation. And chances are you are fine. Worrying about goofing isn't going to make it better, but behaving right will keep you from causing yourself more stress...worrying stress AND stress on my stomach. Good luck.

Marchies in the New Year
Hi, I've gotten back to basics. I'm eating hot cereal for breakfast, either oatmeal or cream of wheat, fish at lunch with a vegetable, some protein at dinner with a vegetable and maybe a little carb and only fruit as snacks between meals. I feel great. I've eaten bananas, pears, apples and canned peaches in the last few days. I forgot how much I adore fruit. My calories are stickint to about 1300 a day. There's oil on my fish and still a little cream in my coffee, but golly it's good to see the scale move. I've just realized that I've not had a day off from exercising since last week Monday so today is a rest day. Happy, happy, happy.

recommitted to intense exercise
Sorry you're sick LJM. I'll poke you on Friday to get you moving again. I'm taking today off because I just looked at my journal and I've not missed a day's exercise since the 21st. My body needs a rest day. I'll be on here tomorrow though talking junk about my intense workout! :frown:

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Talking Muddy Buddy, how do you train for that? Where do you find things to climb and scooting on your belly??? I'm shooting for a 10K this spring/early summer...but biking might get in the way of that. Well, about your 1/2 marathon...where are you running now? Indoors, in front of a TV? Are you able to watch something you like? How long do you run at one time? I know this is the bicyling thread, but tell me about how you run. Oh and to talk biking, the GF is looking at a road bike that's super fancy. I'm so jealous I could spit.

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
Oh, I know what you mean about hating running. I hate this cross fit thing the trainer had me doing. When left to my own to devices I chose not to work out other than doing it! You know that I really must have hated it. Because I love working out! I say stop running. It's like brussell (sp and I'm not looking it up) sprouts...no matter how you cook them, I'm going to think they taste like shit. I just don't like them. And there's plenty enough other things out there to eat that I don't have to eat them. So drop the running and find something else. If you not enjoying yourself what's the point?

What plastic surgery? I mean I know it was an idea, but I didn't realize you had a date...do you have insurance coverage? You'll be living at goal this summer, you just know it. With the warm weather eventually coming you'll be out riding that bike and getting super skinny!

That's so interesting!!! I got a mammogram about 5 months ago because my breast tissue was hurting. (I had a reduction years ago and the change in carrying my weight differently, due to weight loss caused some odd new tugging on a scar.) But I was so happy to have the mammogram done, just to be sure things were good. I'll track my moods with my weight loss...very interesting.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I love a girl in scrubs... I'm wearing my uniform of a blue polo and jeans. I hope you get the job if it's what you want. 10G is a nice difference.
