Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
You might cure me of my "I mention my birthday as often as I can before it happens" syndrome if I'm going to have to contend with that every time. I'm just saying Tax day=Juli's birthday. That's all.

BG, I'm so excited. I can have my mentor chica give you the bike buying drill. Or I can call you and tell you what she told me. She's very specific, which I love.... I'm sooooooooooo happy for you. BTW, only 3 days and I'll be biking in Vegas, baby. We decided on the 23 mile self guided tour Saturday morning. Happy happy happy. My other happiness is I ordered shoes from Shoes at Zappos.com - Powered by Service - Our shoe store features dress shoes, casual shoes, and athletic shoes for men and women! and I think I will never buy shoes any other way. OMG, the service, the speed, the styles......

If I were in NYC I'd join you for some pampering! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. So, how about your feet? You had to lose a shoe size or two...I've been shoe shopping and just spent an hour on Zappos. Just curious.

JulieNYC's medial thigh lift, breast augmentation and mons lift
Julie, Maybe you exchange the ski trip for something like a spa day where you can indulge and not stress your body. Perhaps that would be a smaller time committment as well. It's good you know your limitations and you have a strategy to deal with them. As always, you're rockin'.

I did cook healthy things...well the ribs weren't healthy, but they were protein that was soft and I didn't eat that much of them. I have another 4 meals all portioned out waiting for me. But holy crapola, you are indeed only 39 pounds from goal! You are amazing. I can't wait for before and after shots of you come February 6th!!!! BG I heart you quite a bit.

No you've got to buy the arm band and pay for the sight. Some people love it. I'm about finished with it. I'm fickle I guess.

Has anyone taken up Bycyling?
I cooked all weekend, but the only vegetarian thing was a pot of split pea soup. I had mussels, chicken bratwerst and braised short ribs...The problem with going to Whole Foods is it makes me want to cook. Then I eat and it's a terrible cycle. I'm hungry like I don't know what and I can't seem to make it go away...I believe it's head hunger and I'm doing dumb shit like eating things I know I shouldn't (bread and sausage) then PBing. Who'd had thought 10 months later the head games would still continue? I'm thinking I need to go back to basics, write how hungry and full I feel when I eat and track it, but to become aware again. Well, Happy Monday everyone.

Waitresses and drinks
Instead of saying, "What part of 'I don't want anything to drink' don't you understand, dumbass?" you might just order a glass of Water and put it out of reach. I was a huge drinker, with a straw, but I don't put the straw in the drink and I drink the water. Often times a table mate drinks my water or I clean my kid's face with the napkin dipped in it. Really aren't there other issues out there to keep you up at night? That server isn't out there to sabotage your success. They are people doing a really hard job with out much respect. I know every tactic we have helps but this is one of those pick your battles times.

Marchies in the New Year
Oh my goodness... Shy daughters and ADD kiddos. My little girl is 6 and marches to her own drummer right now. She has very few friends at school, not because she's shy or because she is mean, but because she is overly huggy and touchy and wants to be in everyone's business all the time. She's not ADD but has SPD which is sensory processing disorder. She's a sensory seeker...and is too young to get social boundaries. So the other kids avoid her. UGH. She is still rather clueless, but soon I'm sure it will impact her self esteem. The good thing is she's very physical so steering her toward sports is something we are doing. But she has no fear. Think the TV show Jackass, but with a 6 year old girl. Don't you just want to protect them from the world? And Janine, don't apologize for writing...that's what we're here for. And if someone isn't interested then can move along to a different thread. XO

Dr just recommended Bypass
Just to add, my surgeon said "I can make your lose wieght with GB, with the lapband you are the one who will make you lose wieght." I told that to a friend of mine who's son is a surgeon and she said, "surgeons are all control freaks. Do what you think will work best for you." But what I heard and now believe is the part of the equation that differentiates the two is the individual's ability to give dieting and exercise one last final go. If you are exhausted and want to give over control to someone else GB is good. If you are so heavy that you are disabled and cannot move well, GB is a good choice. If you have other complications that you NEED to have addressed by losing weight quickly GB is a good choice. But you are young and your BMI isn't in the 50's. (mine was.) You should be able to hit the diet hard--and for the last time--And yes it's a diet, like you have to be mindful of how you eat, but it is forever so it's a change in framing the "how you eat" question, so it's not a diet...(I hope that's not really unclear) I'm guessing you can exercise, again the BMI is lowish and you are 33. You may need to take it slowly at first but... You have young kids and that consideration for Lapband should be the lower mortaility rate, not a 45 minute commute. So with that said, I'm not biased against GB, but it can be really wrong for some people and lapband can be really right.
