  1. 45/Female/ Sunny California :crying: Senior Analyst Two adult kids 24 and 19. Looking to have fun whether that is with a friend or something more. Banded for 3-months Divorced for 13 years
  2. Glad to hear it went well for you! Take care.
  3. I think you should follow your doctor's post-op diet instructions. When do you start mushies and solids? If you cannot start mushies yet, then call your doctor and ask if you can?
  4. Renee look at this link for daily food ideas: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/index206.html#post1138802
  5. My first appointment with the surgeon was October 10, 2008. My surgery was November 11, 2008.
  6. Prepare of list of questions that you would like to ask the surgeon. As far as liquid Protein, follow your doctor's recommendation for this. But if he did not recommend one, I drank the Isopure 40 grams of protein and NewWhey bullets 42 grams of protein. I like their flavors, but there are people on this forum who do not.
  7. I don't know anything about your insurance, but with my insurance they gave me a list of bariatric doctors that were in the network, so there was no confusion as to who was a provider and who was not. Can't your insurance company tell you which bariatric doctor is covered in the network, so you don't have to waste your time?
  8. Since every insurance is different their requirements vary too. Contact your insurance company to find out what steps you need to take.
  9. Well I hope your right Beth!
  10. If you were fine prior to eating and no band issues, it sound more like food poisening or the flu bug.
  11. I hear you. I hope some regulation comes out of this.
  12. I really hope. I just don't want to be one of those people that never hits their sweet spot. :crying:
  13. [ As a California resident, my tax dollars are already being donated to this family. But thanks for the link.
  14. Judgmental no, realistic yes. Realistically she will not able to raise 8 premie babies on her own. And I am not even talking about the 6 kids she has at home. She does not have the financial resources or the physical capability to raise the 8 premies on her own. Glad to hear you thought it was a breeze to raise 10 children. But Pattygreen you did not give birth to all ten kids at once. You did not have 10 premies to raise at once. You pose a very weak argument when you compare your circumstances with the mom who she gave birth to 8 premies. And throwing God in the mix as though this woman has a devine right to reproduce without the consequence of providing is just ridiculous. As someone who lives in California, I am pissed off that my tax dollars are being utilized to provide food stamps and other government support services to this woman. And the reason why I am ticked, is because she could not afford to provide for the 6 kids she has at home and now she has 8 more. I wanted to have a large family too, but I could not afford to do so, so I did not. There are a lot of things in life that I would like to have, but I cannot afford them.
  15. I agree with this. Be careful of what you sign, inlight of not having insurance approval yet.
  16. The first sign is not being able to keep fluids down. But your doing that. Another sign is not being able to keep foods down, which results in being stuck or vomiting.
  17. Congrats on your 50 pound weight loss! Personally, I want to lose weight just like everyone else on this forum. And I would love to lose it quickly, but not to the detrminet of my health. I will never accept a fill in which I could not swallow liquids. If this would happen to me, I would call my doctor and get a slight unfill. It is not a race to lose weight but more of journey. I know I will get there and so will you. If you cannot keep fluids down then call your doctor.
  18. Yes, I did during those two phases. And I continue too now. During both phases, I walked on my treadmill with an incline. I could not go very far or go very fast, but I did work out. I started off at 20 minutes, then 30 minutes, then 45, minutes, then 50 minutes, and now I do 60 minutes 5X times a week. During the pre-op and post op diets, the incline I started off at was 2%, but now ranges from 4% to 5%. The distance was 1 mile, then 1.25 miles, then 1.5 miles, then 2 miles and now I am at 3.40 miles. Plus, every other day I would do upper body work-outs with light hand weights. I would use Sparkpeople.com videos, which taught me how to properly stand and position myself with the weights.
  19. I did not have this issue, but if my primary care doctor did not support me and delayed my ability to have the surgery, I would have found a new PC doctor who would support me.
  20. God, I hope they get smaller because they are in the D range now. But as of yet, I am almost 40 pounds down, since my surgery three months ago and they are not decreasing in size. I am losing inches every where else but not in my breasts.
  21. What specifically do you want to know?
  22. Sparkpeople.com is a great free resource as well.
  23. Restirction is very different for each person. But it really sounds like you need a fill. I was banded November 11 and I have had 4 fills. I have great restriction with the fourth be I am very cautious as to how long that will last. Usually my restriction will last for about two weeks and then it fades. Today makes two weeks since my last fill, so I am just waiting to see what happens.
  24. I recorded on tivo last night and I cannot wait to watch it tonight when I get home from work. I bet is is shocking:scared2: and she is irritating:cursing: .
