  1. Sounds like you need a slight unfill. I have had 2 and need a 3rd. What's funny is that after my 2nd unfill, I felt really good for over a month and then all of a sudden I have been experiencing discomfort with drinking water so eating is becoming a challenge. I can eat, but I feel great discomfort. I'm scheduled for a slight unfill for the 3rd time. What makes this band feel tight for no apparent reason? Has anyone else experienced this?

  3. Which cruise did you go on? Who knows, we may have been on the same one. The main thing is that you lost what you gained and 2 lbs is nothing. It was more than likely Water.
  4. 1 fill costs $350??? What the heck? They are making all kind of money doing fills. That's crazy. I'm glad my first 2 years included my fills.
  5. Thanks! I had to be strategic about what I ate because there were soooo many things that looked so good. Probably my biggest downfall was ice cream. I ate ice cream probably 2 times per day, but I couldn't eat very much stick to your ribs food. Mostly salad, meat and vegis., some pizza.
  6. AND I DIDN'T GAIN A POUND!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOO! Never before in my life have I ever gone on a cruise or vacation and didn't come back with weight gain. I did get stuck once and PB'd, but I certainly watched it the remainder of the time. I'm perfectly restricted. Thanks Dr. C and staff!
  7. I was a self pay in Cincinatti Ohio for $12,999 with 2 years of fills. I think Capital One has financing for healthcare. I forget who I got financing through. Help is out there. Good luck to you.
  8. Oh, and by the way, NO I don't diet, but I do try to make better food choices.
  9. Lap Band is not really a tool change the way we eat, but how much we eat. It's out of control. Changing the way we eat is a condition of the mind. You have to make a conscious effort to change the way you eat. I eat regular foods but in much smaller portions than I did pre band. That has enabled me to lose over 70 lbs. I've always pretty much ate good food, but I didn't know when to stop piling it on. It's amazing now to go out and eat only 1/2 of a meal that I normally would have smashed and then want more. I am AMAZED! I LOVE my band.
  10. I haven't had a fill in a few months, as a matter of fact I had some removed? One day I feel just fine with my restriction the next day food struggles to get down and I feel uncomfortable. Why the inconsistencies?
  11. Greek yogurt is fabulous!!! I like it plain with 2 pkts of splenda or honey, mixed fresh berries w/diced bananas, 2 t-spoons granola with walnunts. You can also add it to your protein shake. YUMMY! I mostly eat the FAGE brand.
  12. I've had my band now for 1 year and 1 month and I LOVE my band!!! I had some pain and discomfort but I was determined to get to the bottom of it. Turned out to be a tad bit too tight and some reflux was causing the pain. Easily remedied! I was NOT going to allow that to discourage me. I would do it all over again.
  13. My Husband and I took up bike riding 4 months ago and we LOVE it! Now that it's cool, I love it even more. I will ride for as long as there is no snow and ice.
  14. No! Mine was out when I awoke. I would have been completely traumatized if that tube was still in my throat when I awoke. Best wishes.
  15. I'm now on day 3 and feeling much better. Looking forward to Friday and the results of this test.
  16. I started the 5 day pouch test yesterday. Made it through yesterday, today is much more difficult. Any suggestions? I want food, but I want to see the results of this test more. I am STARVING!
  17. I lost 64 lbs in my first year. Wanted to lose more, but happy I'm not where I was.
  18. I paid 100% out of pocket and my surgery was 12,999 with 2 years of fills included. I had the BEST Dr.
  19. This is pretty cool. I am the only one banded in the house and my husband could use this as he has a bottomless pit and has NO clue what his portion size should be.
  20. I eat cereal on occasion. I love a bowl of cereal. My issue is with proper restriction it can be somewhat difficult eating with a liquid as it causes me to gurgle.
  21. I did have some fill in my band after surgery, however it was minimal. In the first 3 months I consistently lost on average 10 lbs. then it slowed down. I am now more than halfway to my goal. I had restriction after my 3rd fill and even had to have some removed as I was a little too restricted. You still have to work at losing weight. The band is just a tool to assist you in not over eating. So in conjuntion with the band, exercise and eating the right things, you will lose weight.
  22. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I would be at goal or beyond now if I had. I'm over 1/2 way there and looking forward now to being under 200 lbs with only 13.3 left to reach 199.9 and I cannot wait. Best wishes in your decision making process.
  23. Gotcha! I was a self pay so I was oblivious to this process. Welcome to bandland.
  24. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by you started this journey with your 6 month supervised back in September but it appears you just had surgery this summer. Please explain? Thx.
  25. I've never experienced this after a fill. I'm sure everyone is different, but it hasn't been my experience. I hope you get the answers you're looking for.
