Almost 3 weeks!
Cutie I am sure your body is just getting use to less calories and is storing fat. It won't take long and you will start to see those pounds fall off.

Port Site
I am unable to feel my port when I touch my tummy is that normal? I am getting worried about that because if they can't feel it when you go in for a fill then you have to go get another upper GI and those are horrible (well at least the stuff you have to drink is horrible). Has anyone else had this same problem?

I am back home

I am back home
No I am not starving at all. I am not sure if it is the band or if it is the pain meds. I get full from the little bit of broth and jello I do eat though. I catch myself thinking about fatty foods alot, but it is not worth it!!

I am back home
Surgery went great. I had a little chest pain from the gas, but that is starting to go away. I hope my stomach pain starts to go away soon also. That is the worst part. I have 5 cuts and no stiches just some clear tape. I thought that was a little strange. I started on clear liquids today and I am able to keep those down, so that is great. I am really looking forward to the full liquids.

Good luck to those heralding in the last week of August!!
Thanks you so much to everyone. This group has been wonderful, and I am so excited that the big day is finally here. It has been a long wait for this day, but very worth it. When I get home Tuesday I will let everyone know how it went. Thanks again everyone!

New to site and 4 days post op

Last Appt today...nearly there...
They told me about the shot in the belly at my pre op appointment also, but that really does not bother me. I did IVF to have my son and I use to have to give myself shots in the belly all the time. Trust me guys is hurt worse in the arm then the belly. Since we have fat on our belly it does not hurt. Don't let that be what stresses you out. I promise it is not that bad.

Pre-Op tomorrow...(what to expect?)
I had to get several tests but I don't think that is very common. Just in case I will let you know what I had to do. Chest c-ray, upper gi, blood work, ekg, pulmonary function, and blood gasses. Then I meet with the RN over the bariatric department, the pharmacist, and a nutritionist. I was all very helpful for asking any questions I had before surgery Monday.

That is horrible when you don't have people at work that support you. I am sorry you are still feeling bad.

Back from Pre-Op Testing
Well I had to be at the hospital at 7:45 am yesterday morning to start testing. I had blood work, EKG, Upper GI, chest x-ray, blood gas, and a pulmonary function test. They where all horrible, but I lived through it LOL. As long as all my results come back perfect then I am still scheduled for Monday at 10 am to get my band. I also had to attend a support group on Tuesday, and that was nice. It felt good to meet some local people who are going through the samething I am with the same doctors. They where all really nice and had some really positive experiences to share. Well I am still on my good old liquid diet today is day is day 7, and it don't even feel hungry anymore. It gets a little hard to watch other people eat things I use to love (pizza & bread sticks) but I have been strong and drank my Water and ate my Jello. I have lost 11 lbs so far.

Thank Heaven for Potato Soup
I am glad you could eat the potato soup. I love potato soup also. Sounds like it did the trick for you. Keep up the good work. I know that scale will show you some lower numbers once the swelling goes down.
