  1. I have never heard of this either... Stuck is stuck instantaneously.. Sounds like angina or a panic attack to me... but what do I know! Wouldn't dismiss it too quickly if it happens again.. need to know what is causing it..... Good luck!

Good for you! Glad to see someone standing up for herself... However, you have to realize HOW LUCKY YOU ARE TO HAVE SOMEONE WHO LOVES YOU AT ANY WEIGHT! I too, have a husband who loves and supports me at any weight... We are TRUELY BLESSED! Hang in there and good luck!
  3. Bless your heart! Your saga is one of those stories that reminds those of us who still have reasonably good health and have our loved ones close just HOW BLESSED WE ARE! God Bless... Keep the faith!
  4. hope you have had good news since this last post! Good luck!
  5. Angel Eyes, Glad to hear you are doing well! Thanks for the info... i have often wondered if you would need an "unfill" if you became ill, etc. Keep the Faith and God Bless!
  6. I agree TOTALLY! I have had BOTH... and there DEFINITELY IS A DIFFERENCE... If/when you PB, there is no acid in the food, since it has NOT MADE IT TO THE STOMACH YET.. If you vomit, on the other hand, it will come from the STOMACH and will contain the digestion acids.... I guess not every one has experienced PB.. But i do agree that any time something comes back up, it cannot be a good thing.. Hope to see Less of you all soon! Keep up the good work!
  7. AMEN! I am right at 200 pounds NOW.. (after having lost 83 pounds).. I am sooo much happier, more active, and FEEL BETTER THAN I HAVE IN YEARS... But........ 200 pounds, as stated, is still a lot of weight to carry around on these old joints/bones! I intend to get down to my NORMAL/HEALTHY weight and STAY THERE! I just wish I had this choice years ago BEFORE I BECAME NEARLY 300 POUNDS! Kudos to those of you who are doing something BEFORE it gets to that point!
  8. I can't tell you how many times I heard the same thing before I was banded... the worse one was my doctor! My doc kept telling me I wasn't that big and surgery was only for people who were MORBIDLY OBESE ....... I was about 130 pounds overweight by HIS scales at that time! Wonder how much bigger I would have had to have gotten before HE WOULD HAVE APPROVED THE BAND? I got tired of BEGGING FOR HELP and went to Mexico and did the self-pay thing... No one knows your body like you do.. Why do we have to BEG FOR HELP? So glad to know I am not the only one with these "SO-CALLED HELPFUL FRIENDS" LOL!
  9. Thanks for the reply... The problem I have about getting an "unfill" is that I travel 3 hours one way to my doc... also, I am self pay, and have to pay for the "unfill" as well.. I am finally getting back to my "sweet spot" after toughing it out for a few weeks... I too have the PB when I am dehydrated, but I guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together to realize that is what caused it.. Thanks for the info!
  10. This intrigued me.. and I have been wondering about it.. I am 13 months post band... I have very FEW TIMES I can eat anything (I know my band is a little too tight, but I am trying to wait it out)... My question is regarding your statement, "still have help from the band, but no issues." Does that mean your band is helping you maintain but you do not have issues with it such as PB or the "coughing spells" anymore? I believe I can hang in there as long as I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Lol!
  11. Well, you certainly have the right attitude! Hang in there... you'll do it!
  12. Good luck and Congrats!
  13. Needing a fill. Am still "stuck" on a plateau of 57 pounds lost. Will have to call this coming week and schedule my 3rd fill. Got my pool filled today; the extra exercise this summer has to help me lose quicker!

  15. Well, I have officially stalled. I know I need a fill, but I am self pay and my hours have been cut back at work. I will have to find the money somewhere. I have come too far to fail now! Still have some restriction and I can't OVEREAT, but I need to get the rest of this weight off. I wish I had done this earlier in my life. So much money and effort and many years wasted on the wrong diets! I know I am on the right track, and with the good Lord's help, I will make it through!

  17. I have NO REGRETS WHATSOEVER..... Unless it would be that I DIDN'T DO IT SOONER! I have spent the last 20 years battling this weight, and I mean WORKING ON IT.. not just BEING FAT! I know I am finally on the right path, but it is not a quick fix by any means! Still have to work at it, but I am not hungry all the time like I was before! Keep on Keepin' on! Good luck and God Bless!
  18. Guess we will just have to keep each other company! lol! But in all seriousness.. I have found an EXHORBINANT AMOUNT of help and support on this site. I appreciate every e-mail and every tid bit of info I find on here! Good Luck to All! and hope to see LESS OF YOU SOON!
  19. Questions for other--- 1. Was anyone else unsure of the feelings of being full? We have all had those feelings! It is a learning process. 2. Did anyone else feel like they were just on a strict diet at first? Oh definitely! thought.. If I was going to have to be on a diet like this all the time, why am I going through the process of getting the band.. then I realized the band really helped me eat less and added to my control... 3. Is it unusual to lose 17 lbs in six days? I would say you are one of the lucky ones! Don't knock it! Enjoy! 4. How long does the soreness last? I was mildly sore for about 4-5 days.. a little swollen. But by the end of the first week, I was totally back to normal. Congrats on your decision and getting your surgery.. You have gotten off to a GREAT START! Good Luck and God Bless!
  20. Hey Luchay, Don't beat yourself up too much! We all go through valleys! Trick is to pick yourself back up and get back on the right track (which is what I am working on now!).. You hang in there, we'll make it together! God Bless!
  21. Congrats to both of you on your decision! I am 9 months into my band.. have lost 57 pounds and it was the BEST THING I ever did for myself! Good Luck and God Bless!
  22. I too enjoyed this thread. I have not given up on my band, but I am at a plateau and have been trying to get another "jump start".. I still have good restriction and I am sure the scale will start moving again soon.. Good luck all! God Bless!
  23. lol! Got me! Can't get there from here! I get some sort of off-the-wall site! lol!
  24. I just signed on to find ideas/help with the fact I haven't lost any weight at all this month. I have the slimming and PB nearly EVERY DAY but I haven't lost any weight in almost a month. It is hard to believe you can eat so little, throw up what little you do eat, and still not lose weight! Since I am still having these probs, I was putting off getting another fill. Am i going to have to fill to the point i can't swallow ANYTHING to lose start to lose again? I have lost 57 pounds and I really think I am on the right track, but this PLATEAU is really discouraging! Keep trying, don't give up the ship, we'll get there together! God Bless!
