  1. it's funny what will go down and what won't.. sometimes there is no rhyme or reason.. Bread won't go down, but potatoe chips will.. and sometimes I can't even swallow cottage cheese.. but with all the aggrevation.. I WOULD DO IT AGAIN in a heartbeat! It has been a LIFE SAVER for me! I can work my horses, climb over the fences, and walk my German Shepherds without working up a sweat! lol! Good Luck and God Bless!

  3. You sound a lot like me.. I too thought I was eating small/normal portions, until I got the band... After cooking for a few weeks and realizing I was throwing more out than I was eating, I realized how MUCH I HAD BEEN EATING BEFORE. My doc is very agressive with my fills, and I got to my "sweet spot" very quickly (only 2 fills) but now, my weight loss has slowed down. I was losing 1-1/2 pounds a week, then 1 a week, and now it is slowing down even more.. Guess it is time for another fill... Hang in there, I am sure you will get there like the rest of us......... SLOOOOOOOWLY ....... which by the way, will help us KEEP IT OFF! Hope to see "less of you"
  4. giving the band a rest is the best thing you could do. this happens to me quite often. One day i can eat something that goes down easily and is sooooo good.. next day, try to eat teh left overs and they get stuck! Just don't give up. you'll get there!
  5. i totally agree! when i was drinking my protein shakes, I was NOT LOSING at all. Instead, i take a multivitamin daily and save my calories for real food! Good luck to all! Hope to see "less of you" soon!

Hey! So sorry you are having such problems! PB is "productive burp"... I have it quite often. I hope all goes well with your check. I am ready for my third fill, but I have such a full schedule this month that I am going to have to wait a while. I still have restriction, but I have slowed down in my weight loss.. I was losing 1 to 1-1/2 pound a week, but the scale didn't move for 3 weeks.. and then only 1 pound.. but hang in there! Don't give up yet! We'll get there together! God Bless!

Lol! my hubby has lost weight too! I quit cooking all those goodies, and he dropped too! lol! Keep up the good work!
  8. Bless your heart! Hang in there.. I don't see how you can think you are failing when you are 49 pounds lighter than you were this time last year! I have only lost 56, and am getting a little anxious about getting the rest off myself. Just hang in there.. we'll get there together!
  9. If you have any joint problems (knee problems, osteoarthritis, etc.) that have been documented, those will help. My BMI was over 40 for YEARS and I have only one comorbidit (knee surgery) and none of the docs in my state (Tennessee) would approve the surgery; so, I finally became a self pay and went to Mexico for mine... Best decision I ever made for myself! Good luck!
  10. Oh, I see! Sorry for that! Only time i have abdominal pain is when I get constipated, and that doesn't happen if i remember to buy my "Activia" when i am at the grocery store.. That stuff is GOOD and it WORKS! You are losing at about the same rate I am, and this time next year, we can LAUGH ABOUT IT! Hang in there!
  11. Just ran across this... So sorry things are nto working out for you, but I see that you have lost some weight. Just curious, was that from Preop? or is the band just working slower than you thought? I had hoped to lose faster myself, but i have to realize it took YEARS to get to this point and it is going to take a little while to reverse it. Good luck in wherever your journey leads you! I myself am satisfied that this was the best choice for me and I am hopeful it will continue to work to get me to goal and beyond! God Bless!
  12. I have had this often.. My band is VERY FICKLE! One day, I can eat; the next day, I can barely drink coffee... I just take it one day at a time. You hang in there and don't give up.. Usually 2-3 weeks, it will losen up again.. just make sure you keep plenty of fluids down.. and call your doc if you can't! Good luck!
  13. oh, honey, I hope everything turned out ok? When this happens to me, I just go back to liquids for a day or two and everything works out.. Keep us updated! and don't be so hard on your self.. you did get back on track! Hang in there!
  14. JayTee: Lol! I got a kick out of this post! Congrats on your decision... Good luck!
  15. I won't miss trying to make excuses NOT to attend outings with my sons because the "X" will be there and I don't want him to see how much weight I have gained! Lol! Yeah.. That's right....... You know you do it too! LOL!
  16. Well, that is very interesting Bubble... I never knew much of this. The person doing my fills is a surgeon, and he is GREAT! He takes his time and listens to MY CARES and what I WANT.. I went to him at first because he was the closest to me, but he travels back and forth between 2 clinics and I make my schedules so that I am sure to see him and ONLY HIM.. Best of luck to everyone out there trying to find the "Best Fit"..
  17. Hey all! I just ran across this thread today... I use Fill Centers.. and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! They are not condescending, do not belittle me for my choices, are very attentive to my needs/wishes.. and I get EXCELLENT followup! With the economy the way it is now, I know we are all having added financial probs; perhaps that is the reason there is such tension here? I have never seen this kind of back-and-forth arguing on this site. I think we all need to realize we are in the same boat here and we all have the same goals........ a healthier, happier life style. Lets help each other out and not attack? God Bless and Good Luck! Hope to see "less" of you in the future!
  18. i absolutely encourage you to go to Tiajuana Mexico! it is like a RESORT HOTEL! they are soooo good to you.. you won't want to leave! i had a wonderful experience there.. and I don't speak a word of Spanish.. and I TRAVELED ALONE! Stayed 2 nights in the hosptial and flew back to Tennesee on the 3rd day.. they are wonderful there.. The place is emaculate and the staff treats you like royalty! I would do it again in a heartbeat! Not to mention the fact that the docs down there (Lopez) are the ones TEACHING the procedure in the United States! Not making this up! Check it out! But, as everyone else is telling you.. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you trust whomever is doing your surgery.. and had I had the choice of flying to Mexico or having it done close to home for a little bit more, I would have stayed close to home too.. Either way, you get the same results..... the band............. and it WORKS.. but it is NOT A QUICK FIX.. it is HARD WORK! but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck and don't give up on yourself!
  19. This is the link that I got financing from (through beliteusa.com) ... info@efinancing-solutions.com If you go through beliteusa, they do the paperwork for you! Here is the e-mail for a contact who can guide you through that process.. She is wonderful! Has had lap band and lost over 100 pounds herself and now works trying to help others with the process! terri@beliteweight.com Good luck!
  20. Man! That just about nailed it! Good job! Hang in there!
  21. I won't miss needing a "Bucket" to get my BIG HINEY UP IN THE SADDLE of my horse! LOL! AND I ALREADY don't miss having to take the steps ONE AT A TIME! Came down the stairs the other day and when I got to the bottom, I realized I walked down like a normal person (not sideways while holding onto the rail as I have for the past 5-6 years!)
  22. hey Girl! Don't give up on yourself! 39 pounds is NOTHING TO SNEEZE at! Just look to the future.. If you lost 39 last year, 39 this year.. that would be 78 POUNDS gone forever! I would love to wake up tomorrow and be thin again, but it didn't come on like that, and it definitely isn't coming off any quicker! lol! I agree people made it sound easier than it really is.. (TV commercial makes it sound like you will never be hungry again)! but it DEFINITELY is a tool we can use to get where we need to be! I just wish I had done it sooner! I kept waiting on the doc to tell me it was OKAY ............ Finally, I decided to take back my life and went to Mexico to get the band, and I still haven't told my doc! He is probably going to freak because I did it against his advise.. but he didn't know my body.. Only you can make these decisions for yourself! You hold your head up high! You haven't failed YET.. Giving up would be the worst thing you can do for yourself! If I gave up, I would be so big I couldn't get through the French Double Doors! God Bless! Hang in there!
  23. i haven't been able to eat meats or breads this WHOLE JOURNEY! I was banded nearly 7 months ago, and I have just accepted the fact i will not be able to eat meat or bread until i get to goal!
