  1. Also, if you're still on liquids your poop won't be firm. I'd wait until you're on solid foods and then see how it is.
  2. Thanks, all! I was just worried that it didn't work and my liver would still be fatty, and that would impact the surgery. Guess I'll chill out!! [emoji4]
  3. Does this mean my liver shrinking diet did not work? I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow and am worried my liver won't be ok. Today is liquids only.
  4. Having my RNY surgery Wednesday and want to give hubby an idea of how long he'll be in the waiting room. Forgot to ask surgeon. I'm having a robotic-assisted, laparoscopic RNY. Thanks! I was thinking 2.5 to 3 housr, but don't know.
  5. Whey protein isolate is ok for folks who are lactose intolerant. I am, and I can drink it with no problems. I cannot, however, drink Premier Protein. Really upsets my system.
  6. Why are you worried? It sounds like you should be approved. What did your surgeon's office say? They likely know why folks get denied and would have mentioned it if something looked off. Good luck, and try not to worry!
  7. That's great, mousecat88! Good to hear it. I hate feeling hungry all the time!!
  8. I love this thread! My RNY is Wednesday and I love the success stories . I plan on joining you all!
  9. Thanks, GradyCat. I'm glad to hear that! Very hungry today on day 6 of pre op diet!!
  10. Good luck! How long were you on the pre op diet? I only lost 4 pounds so far. My body is holding on to every bit of fat!! You'll do great tomorrow. Mine is Wednesday.
  11. Good luck yo you!! You've got this!!
  12. Wow, sarah50, you look awesome! What an inspiration you are!
  13. Hi. The doctors dont pump your stomach full of air, but they do pump carbon dioxide into your abdominal cavity so they can see what they're doing. Research what is done during laparoscopic procedures, such as the gadtric sleeve. This has nothing to do with the pre op diet. Some doctors don't require a pre op diet, and some do. Don't worry, it'll be fine. But you may have gas pains afterwards. The gas is not in uour stomach or intestines though.
  14. My favorite thing on the diet so far is raw veggies, especially peppers! They're so crunchy and raw veggies seem to fill me up. Im allowed 2 cups of cooked, or 4 cups of raw veggies a day.
  15. I'm on day 5 of the pre op diet, and some days are easier than others. Yes, I think more fluid helps, and also sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello. Im also allowed low carb protein shakes. I'm hungry all the time, too! We will persevere!
  16. Did your doctor's directions for the liver shrinking diet include chips and guacamole? If not, then yes, it's cheating! I'm allowed plain grilled chicken 2 oz so if you ate plain chicken that's probably ok. Guacamole is high in fat, and the point is low or no fat, and no sugar . All plans are different, but it sounds like cheating!
  17. Congrats on your NSV! And glad you're doing well. My RNY is on Wednesday and I'm encouraged by your progress! Kerp up the goid work!
  18. Thanks, Frustr8, I was afraid I'd have to go to a specialty store!! Good luck finding your way around your reconfigured grocery store!?
  19. I don't know about the sodium, but i can't eat chicken, or regular food until 7 weeks post surgery. I think i can have ground up chicken earlier, though. Ask your team.
  20. Where do you buy Monkfruit?
  21. I use the Diclofenac topical for my severely arthritic knees, and it does help!! I also received steroid shots in my knees which made a huge difference!
  22. Thanks for posting that list, Ummyasmin!! I feel very much the same way. It was nice to refresh in my mind why I'm having this surgery in 5 days!!!
  23. Sorry to hear that, James, but so glad you got back your ability to swallow. That must've been a pain!
  24. Thanks GradyCat! I'm glad to hear you didn't have problems. From reading on here it seems common!!
  25. Thanks for your reply Green Tealael! I hope I don't have any problems swallowing too! BTW, I just love reading your posts. Always encouraging and helpful.
