Trouble drinking
Ah! It gets easier. Just take lots of little sips. There is swelling in your pouch. Give it time.

RNY or Sleeve
My RNY got rid of my type 2 diabetes and acid reflux. Sleeve has the potential to exacerbate acid reflux. My surgeon wouldn't even consider sleeve for me due to my reflux. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Should I do this??
I had the gastric bypass not the band, so I have no experience with it, but if I were you I would do a lot of research before having a gastric band so you are aware of all the pros and cons. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Thank you, Frustr8! Right back at you! :-). I've got my 5th endoscopy on June 28th, so we'll see how the stricture and ulcers are healing.

Depression severe anxiety
I take antidepressants as well. Not extended release. Doesn't hurt my RNY pouch either.

What does dehydration feel like?
Hi, Frustr8. No, I don't have those symptoms, so I guess I'm not dehydrated! Just can't figure out why I feel the way I do. Thanks for your reply!

What does dehydration feel like?
So. I'm about 3 months post RNY and today I'm just not feeling right. Weak, dizzy, lightheaded and no energy. Yesterday I worked out hard at the gym, and didn't meet my goal of 64 ounces of water. Today, because I stayed in bed I also have not had a lot to drink, although Im trying. I'm wondering if I'm dehydrated. I also don't consime many calories because I have a stricture. I live mostly on protein shakes. I just want to go back to bed!! Any suggestions for what could be wrong? I do see my surgeon's PA on Tuesday. Thanks!!

Best MGB surgeon in INDIA?
MGB isn't that common. My insurance wouldn't pay for it. Have you considered a regular gastric bypass?

Probiotics for us?
Yes, I take the "Pearls" brand. They are like tiny little pearls, and are formulated to be absorbed in the small intestine. They are so small, I imagine they go right thru the stoma from the pouch and into the intestines.

Calories liquid stage
There are lots of yummy protein shakes out there. You just need to experiment. Mix a good powder with unsweetened almond milk not water! You are probably not getting enough protein and that can lead to complications. Don't worry about calories but try to get 60 gms of protein a day.

Ulcer?
Yes, I have marginal ulcers where my pouch was joined to my intestines. I also have a stricture, which has been severe. So it is hard to tell which caused the most pain and nausea, but I think it wad the stricture. I had pressure in my pouch like I was going to throw up. Hope this helps. Are you on a PPI?

How much excercise after surgery?
My surgeon suggested (strongly) that I get in one hour of walking a day, in 2 to 3 separate walks. I have yet to get there! I walk 30 minutes in the morning and workout with a personal trainer 2 times a week for an hour. Im 3 months post op.

Hormone increase and too much energy? Anybody? (Women)
Sorry that you and your wife are going thru this. The super high energy level, excessive spending, drinking, and texting when she should be sleeping still sound like Bipolar Disorder to me. But, she probably wouldn't seek help even if it was. Some people like the manic phase. Hang in there, and I hope things get better for you.

Why dont they give appetite suppresants for the liquid faze
Some people, myself included, lose their sensation of hunger early on. I'm 11 weeks post op, and only recently started having a feeling that I should eat. It doesn't feel the same as hunger did before my surgery. I guess for those who still feel ravenous an appetite suppressant might be helpful!

Looking into getting the rny surgery, how have your experiences been so far ?
I'm 10 weeks out from RNY gastric bypass, and have no regrets even though I developed an uncommon complication. That being said, serious complications are rare. I am happy with my choice, and rate of weight loss. go for it!! Best wishes.
