Multivitamins
Don't know but I surely like the sentiment. Don't we, as Bariatric People, deserve some simplicity?

Losing more than the expected 40-60% ?
Orchids and Dragons, I am now where you started, I was proud of me, but I am still on my way to be half the woman I used to be. And I believe, I am still going,to make it. Slowly but it is still going to happen.????

November 2018 sleevers
I once knew a family in Grover Hill, think the kiddos went to Payne for school. Where are you going to have your surgery done? If it is okay I will lift you up in?? prayer on your day! see I do believe in prayer, eeven for small things, although Bariatric Surgery is a BIG UNDERTAKING, a real life changer, although those on here whose surgeries are completed more than think it's worth the effort. So have a smooth Thanksgiving, an effortless surgery and we all will look forward to hearing more of your story!??

Full liquid diet. Had tomato soup and feel drunk. Anyone experience this?
My surgeons office makes us look at the labels, especially soups. Not over 20 carb.soyps, that's why you are better off with light formulations like Progresso makes. That said I like Amy organic soups, even strained they are good, bought 2 , drained them and Tomkitten got the solids. Someday I will eat solids again, this I vow!

Why isn't anyone talking about having no support system? Because I sure dont
And NIKKIBEVERLY. And Toya6. you'll always have a friend in me, if you like. Some things are different , I am a 72 year old widow in Central Ohio who had a RyN bypass September 5th, but like you there is not another RnY in my town, the few times I have been to my local hospital, a community one, not the one in Columbus , Ohio State University, where i had my surgery, the nursing staff acts like I am a purple spotted giraffe that parachuted in, oh they may have treated lap-bands, one or 2 sleeves, but never nothing like ME! And I know how a lack of support hurts, I do have Tomkitten,my son, my friends on here, but hardly anyone else. My PCP told me last Friday, after 11 weeks of silence on the subject, that he was very proud of me. This is after seeing him for other things, and like an invisible elephant in the room, he just ignored it. Even he is finally seeing my weight loss, Good news I have lost 60+ pounds since July 31st Bad News I was such a Big Girl it takes a while for it to become apparent and I am not healing perfect, I have a stricture, My surgeons partner has tried 3 times, every 2 weeks, to stretch it, another attempt this coming Friday, and I have 5 post-surgery gastric and intestinal ulcers, not yet bleeding, not ready to perforated although there is always that risk. So since little gets through the narrowed opening, I can't eat much and vomit a lot. Wish I was young enough to be preggers , I would get a cute little baby out of the vomiting deal!??! But life is still in a way good, beats death all hollow. And Dr Noria swears I am still fixable, smart lady, guess I choose to believe her!?

2 weeks out complications... ulcers.
Sister ?? Please please, let me know how things go with You! My ulcers are farther down, in my pouch near the stoma and the 3 on the back wall of the jejumen, you trumped? me with your esophageal-gastric ulcer although neither of Us Asked to be dealt into THIS GAME, but I understand as few others can. I wish they would give me a firm time for Friday, neither of the social service agencies I normally use work Black Friday nor does our local Transport/Taxi so I will have to ask Kay, my late hubby's 1st girlfriend, no nothing funny there, we had been friends before I ever found out they dated. Just one of those " Small World, isn't it? moments in life. But DO LET ME KNOW, OKAY??

Thanksgiving Recipes
Thank you ScoutCR, one of the things in my twisted road to a new shelter, I did save my bag of commodity walnuts. Still no change in my condition, sometimes it feels better if I don't eat, I know warped but obviously" I ain't right", am I? I watch the surgery day twins go on to full foods, they are planning a nice dinner for Thanksgiving, albeit small portions, meanwhile Little Match Girl Me is standing with her nose preshed against the Brightly lit Toy Shoppe window knowing she will never have what is inside.??And it stings like a razor cut to be left out.

how often were you told to eat
3 small meals, 3 snacks was the original directive. Go no more than 2-3 hours without something going on. Well honest that's what THEY SAID. My real life, water of some sort when I wake up, either plain or Nestle Splash no calorie, take am pills, try to down 2-oz every 15 minutes, hopefully I took my Carafate at 6Am and my Zofran at 8Am or my day goes badly. 9-10 am protein shake, getting down to soy and pea not my favorite or dry powder from Bariatric Pal. WARNING-DO NOT BUY THE NY CHEESECAKE flavor, I whipped up frozen unsweetened strawberries in it this AM, still FOUL! Tak8ng it 2 oz by 2 oz grimacing all the way. Why don't I dump it, hate to throw that money away. Then lunch time, strained soup with protein powder added, after long enough start on the water torture every 15 minutes, for dinner broth , soup , something with scoop of protein added. Try mightly to get the 90 grams of protein Dr Noria wants for healing those ulcers. Calories, hopefully 600-800 if I have done things right, don't miss zofran, don't miss Carafate, make sure multivitamin, B12 get taken. Live a sad little life, not much flavor, keep it smooth, keep it liquid. Don't rock the boat, I defecate every 2-3 days, often needing prompting. Void 4 to 6 times daily smells of mutivitamins et all. I know everyone has their own JOURNEY but it is lonely being a Stricture Kid, having a pouch, that hurts almost constantly, hard to descern ulcer pain from hunger, emotionally I want to eat , but my body doesn't accept much. Surgery weight was 319, now I am somewhere in the mid 270s, maybe purchase a scale the first of December, first time I have lived somewhere with smooth level floors. And the only joys I have, my son, my cats and Bariatric Pals that I have made. I do make an attempt to be upbeat but it is becoming harder, I see no bright star☀or Sun ahead, had last regular appointment in October, not scheduled for another until December 19th, the average patient is doing well, doesn't need much maintainance, well Dayum I am SPECIAL. Biweekly I go have Dr Noria go try to stretch me somemore, make comments about my,ulcerations and then back home. And like the Little Match Girl staring into the Brightly lit Toy Store, nobody seems to care. Not so much regret as feeling neglected and unfulfilled.

Marginal/anastomotic ulcer anyone?

Yes but let this resourceful granny make a suggestion? Carry Chrystal lite packets or Mio liquid with you, stir a little into ice water and presto chango, You are back in the "loop" of Life. You will benefit from scenery changes more then PLOM moments. PLOM stands for Poor Little Old Me( with thanks to Mrs Ganges in Red Deer Alberta). Too easy to throw yourself a pity party and sometimes you are the only one willing to attend. Be I g a hermit is NOT part of the Program!??

30 second elevator interview
Well I am 72 years old, a keen observer of life, never l8ved more than 60 miles from my birthplace but do travel through the lives of people I have met. A lifelong Republican but not a Trumpertarion, blame him on someone else please! Have been a wife , widow, mother of 3, 2 still living, only child of middle-aged parents. Have been telephone operator, Girl Friday in small office, worked in retail sales 11 years, Long Term Healthcare 25 years, loved people, loved making their lives better. No subject is ever beyond my comments. I think I am fun to be around!???
