  1. Each surgeon's plan is different. The right way is to stick to the plan you were given by your surgeon.
  2. Didn't your surgeon give you a plan?
  3. Same here, every morning that I am home. I log everyday, loss or gain. BUT, I do not stress when I gain or go into a stall.
  4. I have a question for those whom are able to stonewall and give non answers .... how do you do it? There is no way in my professional life I would just be able to give non answers about my weight loss and eating habits. This is also complicated by the fact I'm not willing to say, "I'm dieting, I'm watching what I eat", etc.. I have never admitted to having any issues with my weight. I have always projected confidence about who I am, and admitting to wanting to change myself would be acknowledging that was a lie. Dining out is a a big part of my job. I may dine with some people a few times a year. But others I may have 3 meals a day with 3-4 days straight. The amount I can eat is so small (1-2 oz) it is always noticed. Even if I were to say "I'm watching what I eat", there is no way what I can eat is considered a healthy or balanced approach. No doubt people would assume I have an eating disorder. Additionally, my weight loss has been so dramatic, it is not something that is achievable with normal dieting (if I was going to use the "watching what I eat" excuse). I know there are people at my company seriously concerned about my health. Some of this is genuine care. But a large part is succession planning. If I were to become suddenly unable to do my job, that would obviously cause a considerable problem. So is my situation just unique? I can't imagine how I could not answer any questions about this day after day?
  5. I take B complex as well. I added it when I was researching hair loss. The sublingual I take is 1000 mcg. I take it every other day. Between everything I'm sure I'm completely over doing it on B12, since the body has a limited ability to absorb and store B12. But feeling shaky and weak sucks, so I'm playing it safe on the B12 amount.
  6. I love these bras for around the house and running errands https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M1GE7DC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 I have found though that they are not flattering now that my boobs have deflated. I still wear them, but not to see anyone I would want to impress
  7. I thought that since no part of the stomach is removed during the RNY, Ghrelin production was not expected to be diminished? I could be wrong though ....
  8. I was going by what you said ... you would eat the 10 lbs over a month. If you do so, that would be 5 1/3 oz a day, and it would contain 96 g of sugar
  9. Just be aware that eating 10 lbs of dates over a month is: 90 g of sugar a day 400 calories a day Only 3.5 g of protein a day
  10. My point is, you had already made up your mind, what's the point in asking?
  11. Then what's the point in asking?
  12. I'm on the very low end of the calorie scales, especially for being at 5.5 months post op. I am usually at 400-500 calories per day.
  13. My Fitness Pal for tracking, and my digital scale
  14. I had this issue early on, starting about 3 weeks post op. I was shaky, weak, any exertion made me feel like I was going to pass out. But it was not calories I needed. I needed B12. I got a shot from my surgeon's office, and now I take sublingual B12 supplements. I'm at 5.5 months post op, and my calories are very low. Most days I am around 400 calories. I have no issues with energy level at all. Don't delude yourself into thinking, I need calories, I need sugar. That is just our brain that got us to the point of needing WLS telling us that. Get your protein in, get your liquids in, talk to your Dr. about B12, and you will be fine
  15. At about 10 days out, it sounds way too early for ceviche .... But when you're cleared for all foods, I've had no problem with any food, including ceviche, and lots of different seafoods, raw and cooked.
  16. Yes, absolutely ... Here is my weight loss chart .... no one's will ever be a straight line.
  17. I lost a lot of hair from months 3-5. Judging from the diameter of my pony tail I would say 40-50% of the volume. But, literally no one can tell, unless I pull my hair back and the loss at my hairline and temples becomes obvious. And everyone will be so amazed at how good you look from your weight loss, they won't even notice your hair.
  18. You have no idea how hard I am hoping this is true!
  19. I think 60 is much more common, that is my goal. As @RickM said "people are into overkill"
  20. I usually do intermittent fasting on days I'm not traveling, or on days when I travel alone. I wait until as late in the day as possible to eat. I try not to eat again after my "dinner". I'm not sure if it helps. My calories are so low, I'm bound to lose weight. But I figure it can't hurt. I'm not usually hungry in the morning, so I don't have to make a huge amount of effort to fast.
  21. Mine started about 3 months, and just seems to have slowed dramatically, and/or stopped, right around 5 months.
  22. You will have plenty of moments of weakness and slip ups in the future, no need to feel guilty for no reason .... it was just broth ....
  23. I was in the same boat. I just drank protein shakes because I had to. Sometime you just have to drink protein shakes even when you don't want to. Still true for me 5.5 months out
