Each surgeon's plan is different. The right way is to stick to the plan you were given by your surgeon.

Didn't your surgeon give you a plan?

Take each new stage slowly, a tiny taste at a time, and wait, and only take a couple bites. Any real food introductions need to be done slowly to see how your stomach will react, as you are not healed

How long is the healing process ? I’m just worried that it will bust open and another issue I’m having I feel still run down and tired I’m taking my vitamins but I feel if I could eat some protein I would feel better

That's why he said to wait,2 weeks, he cares about, you more than that says start eating, nuts, popcorn and such right away. I doubt I'll ever eat popcorn again, no loss when you consider what I'll be gaining. So I will listen to my doctors advice, they know what they did and how they did it. As a bypass, the last thing to heal for me will be my anastomosis where they join my intestine to my stomach pouch, that is timed in months, instead of days or weeks. NBT no big thing , I know I will be just fine and dandy?my surgeon is the very best I could have found, I trust him, I trust his hands, why would I not trust, his advice????
