  1. ? Think positive thoughts about your future ?
  2. These post are permanent and the Internet never forgets... I'm still not sure who exactly this cautionary tale is for? Spouses of patients? Surely not the patients here who knowing their pitfalls decide to work on them. have done their research and rigorously pass all evaluations. We. Are. Prepared. Frankly, if your spouse had heart or knee surgery with complications and fell into the well of addiction and depression, you likely would not be on forums for that type of support saying you hate cardiothoracic or orthopaedic surgery. Perhaps the better cautionary tales : Life is like castles built in the sand You never truly know someone Divorce is possible Otherwise your monologues are falling on deaf, but well informed, ears good day.
  3. IMHO, Continue to take your pain meds as needed & in due time you will get better. Congratulations and Get Well Soon ?

Those remind me of my Keen rock climbing shoes (that I used to just walk in ?)
  5. Is that your post op bra? It looks so restrictive ? I am the same measurement size in the abdomen as prior to my TT Swell Hell... Im trying to remember my goal is flatter by July
  6. He came with me for surgery and received all my post op instructions while I was *impaired* & he plans to follow the rules for my safety ?
  7. Yes only a surgeon will be able to advise. Revisions are based on other factors besides weight.
  8. Tools are often necessary for maintenance as well (you don't need to be currently building a new house to justify the need to own a hammer)
  9. Doing great! Doctors orders
  10. A Surgeon will advise you properly but most will not sleeve a person with reflux, they may suggest bypass instead. Although the bypass is not the only way to cure GERD, it's one of the only trusted WLS performed to do it Good Luck ❤️ =========================== "To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep, No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; To sleep, perchance to dream—ay, there's the rub: For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause—there's the respect That makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, Th'oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, The pangs of dispriz'd love, the law's delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns That patient merit of th'unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscovere'd country, from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprises of great pitch and moment With this regard their currents turn awry And lose the name of action." - Hamlet, Act III Scene I (I had to do it for the Culture)
  11. I wanted to start a (safe) place where people can just vent ❤️
  12. Not stressing *whining/venting/indulging* ?
  13. Yeah I knew I was getting plastics, and although my plan was rather quickly executed, I thought i had everything planned. Well I didn't think about life after plastics too much. So now I'm stuck with 12 brand new non returnable bras I never wore in my former size and a b2ery patient BF who *may* want to have relations (with me) sometime in the near future... Welcome to the party
  14. pit·y /ˈpidē/ noun 1. The feeling of sorrow and compassion caused by the suffering and misfortunes of others 2. A cause for regret or disappointment. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ A safe space to drop your baggage, bemoan your post op life issues (rational or not) without the worry of someone trying to "Iyanla fix my life" and hopefully leave feeling lighter
  15. ?????? CONGRATULATIONS ??????
  16. Talk to your surgeon about your symptoms and form a safe plan. Developing GERD is a know possible side effect of VSG. Good Luck ?
  17. A few ways to make extra $$$ quickly: Airbnb- become a host or host an experience Rideshares- UBER, Lyft, etc become a driver Grubhub- become a delivery person Ebay- sell things you dont need Instacart- become a personal shopper Care.com- baby/house/pet sit Bank loan- borrow $$ Current job- ask for an advance 401k/ IRA/ Retirement plans- borrow against/withdraw from Pawnshop- pawn things until you need them again (especially jewelry) *These also work to build a rainy day/emergency fund* This lifestyle change can get expensive or maybe you want to begin saving for plastics Good Luck ?
  18. Find a very pure product and make your own spiced honey? I'm sure YouTube has a tutorial ?
  19. Honey may be trail and error. Perhaps try regular first before the medicinal stuff. My surgeon didn't want anyone smoking/vaping nicotine products and as for cannabis he said dont tell him (I'm sure for liability sake. ?)
