Post surgery pain management

Recommended Posts

I am 3 days post op had the gastric sleeve and a hiatal hernia repair. They prescribed me liquid morphine for pain, but I cant find a pharmacy in the area that is able fill it (not sure I want something quite that strong anyway tbh). Any tips for dealing with pain? I'm using the liquid tylenol and it helps for a while, just not quite long enough. I am also walking as much as I can stand to. I mostly just feel like I am moving like a 90 year old.

I stopped pain meds after I left the hospital. It was just gas pain for another day or so and they didn’t help for that. Never had any pain after that.

Call your team and ask them to revise your meds to something more accessible

Good Luck and CONGRATS 💚

Call your Dr.'s office and see if they can change it to liquid Oxycodone it should be easier to fill. Also, the hospital that did the surgery (not sure on your insurance) should have a pharmacy and they could probably fill the morphine prescription.

You are doing this for YOU not anyone else!! Do not worry about what others think, it is how you think and feel about yourself that counts.

Met with my surgeon yesterday and he said that he is so excited for me and the progress that will be made! Waiting for insurance pre-auth and then will get everything scheduled!
