I think that's fairly common, especially if it's the first surgery you've had. It's a very safe one, though, and almost all of us would say our only regret was that we waited so long to have it! Like the above poster, I had a pretty painless recovery. I would have that surgery again in a heartbeat!

Hi. I am having surgery soon and I’m terrified. Any word of encouragement.

I'm also having surgery soon and this major. This entire site is mostly full of encouragement, Greenteal said, think positive about your future and you should. Generate positive energy and thoughts. Of course its not unusual to be nervous, consult with your medical team about what your fears are and talk to your support system and come back here. Pray & meditate.

My surgery is the 21st. The closer it gets to my date the more anxious I get. Try reading the January surgeries thread. It is full of people that have had their surgeries this month and updates on how their experience was. It has actually made me feel a lot better being able to follow everyone through their journey.

Don't stress thisis the best decision you could make

I am post-OP day 3 and feel very good. I had some pain right after surgery, but nurses got it under control quickly. Each person has their own experience but it really wasn't too bad for me.
