  1. There are no words....I am so sorry for your loss. We are all here for you.
  2. I did, they gave me one when I got to the hospital and sent me home with a few more. I get bad motion sickness, so I guess when this patch wears off I’ll see what happens. Thank you very much.
  3. Thank you, I will ask the dr on my follow up appointment Tuesday.
  4. Has anyone been having strange vision issues after? Prior to surgery I had perfect vision, now when I try to look at anything close up it is really blurry. It’s fine for things a little further out though.
  5. I am sipping every chance I get, either protein shakes, popsicles, or a big jug of water. A few things I’ve found that make the pain worse is drinking cold water and then taking a sip of warm soup. Plus anything ice cold makes my stomach spasm. I keep hoping the walking will make it better, I get up every 15 minutes and walk around the house. Thanks for your encouragement.
  6. 4 days post op and I feel really bloated still, is this normal? I’m passing gas as best I can, but I still feel like my stomach is very hard and stretched. Any thoughts would be helpful.
  7. Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. Day 3 has been so much better. I should be able to go home today.
  8. Day 2 pre-op, they are keeping me again overnight since my pain is really bad....the ab binder helps so much. I took it off for a bit last night and started having terrible muscle spasms. Drinking sips of water and sucking on ice chips. Hoping to feel better tomorrow
  9. I finally got my time! I have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 7:00 am, the surgery is at 9:30 am. Hoping and praying that everything goes well and I have an easy recovery. Good luck to everyone else having surgery this week. I can’t wait to hear how all of you are doing.
  10. My surgery is the 21st. The closer it gets to my date the more anxious I get. Try reading the January surgeries thread. It is full of people that have had their surgeries this month and updates on how their experience was. It has actually made me feel a lot better being able to follow everyone through their journey.
  11. That sounds like it went pretty well. I am hoping mine goes that easily. I’ve got the freeze sleeves for protein water, so I’m glad those are working well. Thank you so much for sharing! I hope your recovery continues to go well.
  12. I was thinking this morning too about something to look forward to instead of dreading the surgery and mine is to be able to sit on an airplane and be comfortable in my seat. Not have the seatbelt to tight or the armrest pressing into my sides. I’m going to Europe with my daughter April 1st for her senior trip and that is a long flight to be uncomfortable. I can’t wait!
  13. That sounds awful to have to wake up that early. I won’t find out my surgery time until Monday, I hope it’s not too early. I am trying to prepare myself the best I can, but you’re right it seems surreal right now. Good luck on Tuesday! Can’t wait to hear how you are doing.
  14. I used Saxenda during my 6 month insurance approval process. I absolutely loved it! I was able to lose about 20 lbs within 4 months. Good luck with everything!
  15. I am scheduled for Tuesday also! I am the same, waiting on a call for the time to be there. Good luck with everything, hopefully we'll both be posting great things shortly after
  16. Thank you for this thread and the reassuring input everyone has given. My surgery is Tuesday and I have also been having "cold feet". It feels great to know that you're not alone and so many wonderful people have your back, even when there are others who don't. We can do this!
  17. That's great! Good luck on your road to recovery!
  18. Did you have any vomiting with the nausea? How is your pain?
  19. Good luck on Thursday! You will do great!
  20. Thank you for the suggestions! I just ordered the ab binder and sippy cups on Amazon. My surgery is Tuesday next week and I'm starting to get really nervous.
  21. Congrats!! Mine is the 21st and I am a ball of emotions. I’ve been putting together a binder with as much information as I can that my WLS team has given me as well as things I’ve found on the internet. Pinterest is an amazing tool to find recipes and other information. Do your best to stay busy and you will do great!!! Good luck!
  22. I am so excited/nervous that I finally have a date! January 21st! It will be at Beaumont Grosse Pointe, MI with Dr. Hawasli and I will be having the VSG performed. Good luck to all my other January surgery buddies
