  1. Without getting into a lot of details regarding my own experiences with gluten. I think this happens because your body has not had gluten in a long time and is able to process a little now, but most-likely it will show signs of it's dislike of gluten the more you eat. 2. Would be curious to see how this goes. Not looking so good, especially if you work for them Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. 3 months out. Band to bypass. Salads are no issue for me. I love salad for lunch. Romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber, shredded cheese and 2oz chicken. Yum yum! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Congrats!! You look amazing! Keep up the great job. I can't wait to cross that line too. Still 44lbs to go, but I'm more determined than ever! I can't remember I time in my adult life (36 now) that I was under 200. Thank you for your inspiration today!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. In Canada, if surgery is through OHIP, Optifast is the only option. 4 a day along with some other Clear liquids. I did 3 weeks. It sucked!! My advise, just do as best you can Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. Hi there, Just wanted to share my progress after 3 months after band to by pass surgery. Surgery Oct 3, 2016 SW 292 CW 244 Down 48lbs! Feeling awesome! 9. I'm band to bypass as well! Surgery was Oct 3. Down 44 today. Love my progress. As the others said. It can be slow in the beginning. Don't worry. Just keep working it! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I was told 6 months as that's how long the stomach takes to heal. However I will be having one drink on Nov 26 at my Cousins wedding. I will be 2 months then. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'd personally like to know how to stop getting notifications. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hopefully they can help you! I had RNY Oct 3rd and don't have issues with 2oz of food. But depending on what it is, I find I get full quicker. Chew chew chew and small bites helps. Maybe they have a therapist that can help too? This stage doesn't last forever and you should be able to eat comfortably in the future. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Doesn't sound like enough Protein to me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Wow! Looking awesome!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I think if you can allow the treats and still stay on track then it's ok. And you won't feel deprived. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. 30lbs in the first 5 weeks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Remember the 30 min before and after rule is only for when you 'eat' a meal. Not for when your 'drinking' a meal. You don't have to bookend Protein shakes and broth with 30 mins. If you have some cottage cheese or something you have to 'eat' then wait it out. I was also told the waiting before isn't necessary. I feel for you tho, I've had on and off nausea and it sucks. Hope you're feeling better soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Me too!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Keep your receipt and take them back if you don't like them. I'm in Canada, but never had issues taking them back after trying one shake and not liking. They are expensive and you shouldn't have to keep it if you don't like it. Also, some places have samples that can be bought before buying in large quantity. Hope that helps. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I have a similar story. Struggled with a slipped band for two years! Had band to bypass oct 3, down 30lbs!! Best decision ever! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. Lap band 2011, company went bankrupt, band slipped, daily vomiting and gain all my eight back. Revision on RNY Oct 3!! 28lbs lost in 4 weeks. Just too many possible issues with a hunk of plastic in your body, imo Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Starting weight 292 Current weight 264 Lost 28 in 4 weeks Surgery was Oct 3 Band to bypass Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Hi there, I was positive and did one round of antibiotics. They said they would do another round but not bother to test again. I did the second round and they went ahead with surgery, no test. Sorry it's causing you so much grief. H pylori is very common. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I weighed myself 3 days before surgery and was 292lbs. Today, exactly 4 weeks later I'm down 26lbs. I weight myself every couple days but only record my weekly Friday weight. Don't worry though, everybody is different. I did gain a little after surgery and stalled around the 3rd week. Just stick to it and you'll do great! Also, I'm band to bypass :-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
