I hate it when people post just to post.....
Oh My. That's pretty weird. My doc sometimes posts in the Texarkana area forum on here. Yanno (plagurized....er....borrowed from SNT), people aren't always the nicest to him.

Well, I rarely send money to televangelists....but I loathe gin. You are correct! Some testicular fortitude should do the trick!

Why don't y'all see?
Hmmmmm....You do raise an interesting point....

medication
Hey, mgirl....my doc told me to get used to liquid meds & vitamins. He doesn't approve of pills + a band....not unless there is absolutely no way to avoid it.

Hello everyone!
Great news Karen! Good luck to you!

What is this feeling?
Is your belly telling you you're still hungry, or is your head telling you you're still hungry? See, most of us have gotten the feeling of "full" confused with the feeling of "stuffed". It took me awhile to re-learn what "full" really felt like..... Anywho, what you're describing sounds like what I feel when I've eaten too much or eaten too fast. Hope any of this helps! Good luck!

I just mapquested "Ferris", and it looks a little out of the way for me, lol........but I'll keep it in mind. One never knows where one may end up on a carefree weekend, no? And I do have a fondness for keeping little bits of trivia like that in my brain. Thanks for the tip. Hey.....You're not setting me up just because I'm conservative, right? No biker beatdown? No spiked burrito? I'm gonna trust ya just this one time, lulu...:rolleyes2:

up and about
Bill, put me down in the "no catheter" column. Also, I was up walking about 30 minutes after I "remember" waking up in recovery. I was a little sore for about 3 days, back to work on the 4th with no problems (my job is 80% desk job).

Fenton vs. PRCowboy Challenge
Awesome, goat! I'm still holding @302. I think the scales are starting to swing, though.....adding in some walking on the treadmill, of all things seems to be very effective for me.

I got my first taste of salsa & eggs while I was attending school in San Marcos, Tx. First time I had ever had a breakfast burrito. Delicious. IMO, nobody has better Mexican food than the Austin, Tx area (not even San Antonio....not even the valley).

Why don't y'all see?
Maybe it is a little funny....but it would only be ironic if wasa had snuck into Mexico illegally to take advantage of free medical care.

Just covertly toss a tictac in their mouth when they're yawning or something. I love the hill country. I would live there if all of the family weren't in northeast Texas. I went to college in San Marcos and LOVED it there. All those little German towns in that area are beautiful. Eh, live and learn. It's just part of the process. I usually do ok on eggs (but they have to be kinda soft scrambled) Seriously? That's almost a pound a week! You're right on target, Donna. With this slow weight loss, maybe you won't have all the "skin issues", and can post all those cheesecake photos that we all want to see. (and by "we all" I mean "me"....just sounds less creepy the first way).

I don't know you smartiegirl, but the thought of you personally buying a HARDCORE porn mag made me laugh a little. Sexist? Yes.......but I still think it's funny.

Massusse: Would you like a "happy ending", SNT? SNT: Er, well....I guess so. Massusse: Here's some chocolate, and let's go shopping...

Um, are you aware that somebody has placed a "chuck" behind your head??

My breath smells like macho. It makes ladies ovulate. Anywho, the weird / funny / awkward thing is that the close talker is a dude!! And he does it to everybody! He is oblivious (although a genuine and kind-hearted guy) to personal space.

OMG, Donna, you are cracking me up! You're killing me! Hey, that's going to be my new opening line when meeting new people: "Wanna touch my junk?" Oh, that's a professional all right......the oldest profession. I wonder if women ever get propositioned for a "happy ending" when they go for a massage??

Tap, you sicko. I'm good, how YOU durin? BTW, do not be afraid to use the multiquote. The multiquote is your friend. Accept the multiquote. Love the multiquote. Do not be afraid to use the multiquote. Do not be afraid to let your eyes get hurt by the multiquote. The multiquote is your friend. Accept the multiquote. Love the multiquote. I hate, hate, hate close talkers too.....and I have a pretty good friend that is the worst about it, especially when drinking.

Something to commemorate my decision
Why Beth, you salty so-and-so......a tattoo! I'm so proud. I'm thinking of getting a half-sleeve done around Christmas (because nothing says "I Celebrate the birth of my Lord" like getting a tattoo, eh?). I would love to get a full sleeve, but it's a no-no in the healthcare industry.....so I'll settle for something I can semi-hide. What is your hidden tattoo of? And where is it hidden?

Weight Loss??
How many calories / day? It is helpful for some of us to journal everything we eat. That way, we can go back and review at the end of the week (or whatever) exactly how many calories we're having. It's easy to lose track or underestimate the calories. Or it could be that you're not eating enough, and your body is trying to go into "starvation mode". Whatever the case, this is something you need to discuss with your surgeon.

Did not lose more than 32 lbs with Lap Band - Am now going to try Medi Zone
Sounds like you are too tight. If it's hard to swallow food, then you need an unfill, period. It could be lack of certain hormones, then. Even if you are on HRT, your levels might be screwed up. Yikes......'cause I saw this earlier: So maybe you just forgot about the Anvil? Nah. If it were that simple, there wouldn't be any fat people in the world. There wouldn't be a need for the lapband. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Bingo. You're too tight. Well, but earlier you said: Look, I'm not trying to play "gotcha" with what you posted earlier. My point is, if you're mis-remembering these things (drinking with the meals and the Anvil), then maybe you weren't following the rules as close as you thought you were. Unlike the above respondents, I don't think you're just trying to spam. I think you're frustrated with your band. But I also think that you can still turn things around. My advice (even though you didn't ask for it) is to consult a bariatric surgeon (one familiar and comfortable with a gastric band), and tell him your story. I'd bet on an unfill, though. Lastly, this MediZone plan sounds like a bunch of crap to me. Basically, you get some quack (whose office is behind a Long John Silver's) to prescribe you speed to lose some weight. When you quit the drugs, the weight will come back, probably more than before because the drugs have screwed up your metabolism. You can still turn this around, Sunny Skies!!
