Insurance Gods Plz grant me just 1 wish
Good luck to you waiting on approval. The wait time varies by insurance company. I got my approval in less than 24 hours.

No time to do anything.
I was told about the 1-2-3 rule in my support group meeting, which can be helpful. If you don't have a large amount of time to exercise, then you can: 1. Take 1 30 minute walks 2. Take 2 15 minute walks 3. Take 3 10 minute walks They say it counts to break up the exercise if you can't do it all at once.

swimming pool restriction
I was told no full baths or swimming for a month after surgery.

July Bandsters...how much have you lost since surgery??
I was banded on July 8th and haven't lost any real weight. I've only lost the weight that was gained from the surgery itself

Question about Taking Meds
Although my capsules are small, I was told to open them up. I just mix it with applesauce

When will I be able to sleep on my side and/or tummy?
I'm 4 days post op and have been able to sleep on my stomach and sides the past few nights. I haven't slept well though

Pre-op insomnia question
I to have insomnia and take ambien, but nothing was mentioned to me as far as it being a problem for surgery

I too am a preop diet of Optifast. I'm on day 3 and it's killing me, lol. I'm getting banded on Tuesday. Good luck to you.

How long after surgery till you can drive?
The nurse told me a week after. I will however, need to drive sooner.

Psychiatric Medication
I currently take 160mg of Geodon and do not take it with food (I know I am supposed to). It has helped me tremendously. I haven't been banded yet, but my psychiatrist doesn't think it will be a problem with the band.

No Previous Weight History?
I didn't have documented weight history either. My wonderful PCP wrote an outstanding letter to my insurance company, with all of the programs that I've been through, the diet pills, etc. I believe this was instrumental in getting my approval.
