  1. I haven't tried the viactiv but I've tried the ActivCal which is GNCs brand of calcium chews. They aren't that bad. They're a little sweet for me though.
  2. I never really enjoyed food before being banded. I ate mostly out of boredom. After being banded, I now have even less interest in food.I'm 2 months out and I'm still not getting in 3 meals/day. Due to a lack of interest in food, I'm getting most of my protein from liquids. That's not good but it's just the way it is for now.
  3. You should be covered but you should double check with your provider
  4. Karen, Where in PA are you and who is your provider? I have Keystone Mercy and they paid.
  5. My primary care doctor also recommended the lapband for me. It wasn't until after I had the surgery that he told me that he doesn't think I will lose more than 50 lbs. He says that it's a fact. I don't pay him any mind. I'm down about 30 lbs now and climbing.
  6. I got mine 2 days after surgery
  7. I was also baned on July 8th and had my first fill on Aug 14th. I don't feel any restriction or any differently than before being banded. I go for my 2nd fill on the 28th. hopefully there will be some restriction.
  8. Congrats on getting your surgery date. Good luck on your journey.
  9. I added bananas, strawberries, and raspberries to both the chocolate and vanilla and it was pretty tasty
  10. I had my surgery last month and decided not to take summer classes. I go back in 2 1/2 weeks.
  11. I actually craved shredded wheat and was ok'd by the doctor to have it 2 weeks post op
  12. I was told to wait a week, but I had to drive 2 days post op, in order to get home
  13. Congratulations on your weight loss
  14. Congratulations on your success.
  15. Thank you for your responses. I will go at it slowly and try a few minutes on the elliptical and see how it goes.
  16. Congratulations on the weight loss
  17. I was banded on the 8th and had my follow-up on the 24th and my doctor has moved me to regular food. 3 meals/day, no snacking. So I've had deli lite turkey and shredded wheat so far and still drinking my sf carnation instant breakfast
  18. I am about 3 weeks post op and I want to know how long did you wait to use the elliptical machine after you had surgery. My nurse said 2 weeks post op is ok and my surgeon told me to wait a little longer. He said to just use the treadmill for now.
  19. I'm also having a hard time getting in my protein. Aside from going through 8 different protein shakes I didn't like, I'm just not able to intake enough protein.
  20. Congratulations and good luck on your journey
