  1. I am glad you're being seen. Please let us know what they think is going on.
  2. it is *very* common. feet can store fat just like the rest of our body. I no longer need a wide width, and am encouraged by my new feet. since I can't afford to replace *all* my shoes at once I have to wear thicker socks with a lot of them now, and am slowly replacing with not wide shoes. let us know how this works out for you! I love having pretty shoes!
  3. ah! I am so glad for this update! makes my heart happy. I am also hoping to be remembered as an active, healthy grandmother. my only grandbaby is just 1 - so if I can stick with my program this will be their reality.
  4. I don't know why but my weight loss stopped at about 202-201. it was so maddening! why not stop just below 200? right? it was messing with my mind a lot. but I just kept doing what I knew to do and in about 2 weeks it moved again. I don't think you've stretched anything out - but more likely your internal swelling is going down and it is a sign that you are healing up - and your body may be focused on that. So, here is what I do when my body hits pause. I use map my walk to track my work outs (there are other programs out there too) and so for a few days I will measure/weigh my food and track it. once I am assured that I am not eating too many calories then I relax and let my body do it's thing. but I will admit it is a lot easier to be patient on the bottom side of 200 than the top side of it.
  5. somewhere around 15 pounds for me. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.
  6. I was in just one night, and plenty ready to go home the next day. I had the sleeve.
  7. the only thing I was having to take as a chewable was my multi. I had chewable Calcium because I thought I would have to - so I used it anyway - but everything else I was able to take right away. I don't know what the rule was on the multi because I had 90 of those things, they were high dollar so I used them all up before I went back on my regular multi.
  8. it's something isn't it? I did yoga a good 2 years before I attempted any poses in public! I've not taken a class but there is a park that I like to go to where there is an observation deck overlooking the biggest waterfall in the state. if I can manage a few times a year to go there on a week day I usually have that deck all to myself, and it is a lovely place to do some yoga. I found my wii to be very helpful as the figure of me on the TV has a line that tells me if my posture is correct. that was a game changer. and I love the Peggy Cappy videos but now I just have a routine of poses that work for me. keep at it! it's so good for your core and hips.
  9. how long have the two of y'all been together? Hopefully he is just nervous about the surgery it's self and the changes that will be occurring in your life. I sure hope that things will calm down and he will be able to talk to you about his specific concerns.
  10. I didn't really have noticeable gas pain. I was up and walking in my hospital room as soon as I was able.
  11. sometimes I use espresso powder, sometimes I use pb powder, and sometimes half a banana in a chocolate shake made with fairlife milk.
  12. I am not really sure. 12-15 pounds I think. it is going to vary depending on how much weight you have to loose overall. my plan was Clear liquids in the hospital. full liquids for two weeks, soft foods week 3 and 4 and then regular foods after 4 weeks. I am now 4 months out and with two more pounds will be down 40% of my excess weight. not too shabby!
  13. I was allowed coffee after week 4. At first I got a bit of a sour stomach but not anymore. I have it most workdays. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. That was mighty nice of you! I precooked food for the first two weeks so my family had to make due with reheating. I don't mind cooking for them once I got on soft foods. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I am loosing less than 10 pounds a month now but I have also not lost my hair and it does indeed add up! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I recently went under 200 pounds as well! First time since probably 2000 for me. Feels wonderful doesn't it?!? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Wonderful success story! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. my doctor has been slowly cutting out my blood pressure meds. I remember how high it was before I started treatment and it is a scary thing to adjust that medication. I am glad you're keeping such a close eye on it, and I know that you will make good choices based on how you respond to the changes.
  19. have you had your 6 month check up? when I go in the scale tells me how much fat I still have on my body, and perhaps that information would be helpful for you to know - do you actually have that much excess fat left or is it skin and dense bones. if you have that much excess fat then it is just probably going to take a longer time as you get closer but just keep doing what you're doing if it is still coming off.
  20. I just use coconut oil, makes my skin feel very nice and stays feeling nice a long time.
  21. I just stop eating when I do not have an empty feeling now. On occasion if I eat more than I should I get burpy and that post thanksgiving dinner feeling. but not pain. I'd guess I eat 3-4 ounces of Protein and some veg and fruit limited carbs.
  22. what did the doctor say could be causing the pain? I do not have this pain -so I am at a loss to advise you, but I sure do feel for you. I am sure it makes every day a challenge for you.
  23. yes, the surgeon is right - don't go poking around!
  24. I am 4 months out today and no. I was not told any of that. crazy huh?
  25. I used to not want to have my picture posted - but then I realized everyone who knows me and loves me already knows what I look like. what I looked like. of course now I love to see how much my life has changed. Be proud of how far you have come! I am trying to be proud of who I was and who I am becoming because that woman is a survivor!
