  1. I think I'd call them back. it's tough that you may need medical care on the holiday weekend, but your health is important
  2. it took me a while to enjoy bacon again, I think the texture was a problem early on. I like it now, but can only handle maybe 1 1/2 glorious slices.
  3. I live in Tennessee - but home is Manton Michigan - will be headed there for a while next month.
  4. I was taking collace whole from the beginning. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. how large would the one incision be? I had 6 but honestly 4 of them were only about 1/4 of an inch, one was maybe an inch and the other one only slightly larger where they pulled out the stomach.
  6. I hope so too! I was only on Metformin. I needed insulin twice in the hospital (that is totally normal with this surgery) but I went home on no diabetes medication and then at 3 months my A1c was normal and I am not considered a diabetic anymore. it was the main reason I had surgery and I am so thrilled. wishing you all the best, and please let us know how you do with this post op.
  7. Did you blend it in the blender? Sounds delicious!!! yup. I have a vitamix but I think any old blender would whiz up soup.
  8. applesauce with no flavor or vanilla Protein powder was something I enjoyed. I also liked to whiz up the Progresso chicken pot pie Soup. didn't like it pre surgery, and not now, but it sure hit the spot during full liquids. funny how tastes can change.
  9. you can always call Aetna and bother them a lot until you find out!
  10. @@Kaze they took me off Metformin 3 days before my surgery and to my giddy delight I did not have to go back on it! I hope the same things happens for you. I had such trouble with that medication.
  11. hello! I do not meet that criteria, but if you have any concerns this is a great group! and you can feel free to message me if needed.
  12. YES! you can. in combination with therapy or self therapy if you can look the food monster in the eye, the surgery can give you the time you need to deal with the underlying issues. I believe it is a much more rocky road than having the time to deal with food issues before hand, but it is completely possible to beat this monster into submission.
  13. I think I would go for it! you will be so much healthier and happier at 4 months and able to enjoy your new marriage better. and yes what @@gina171 says about the dress style.
  14. until I got home from the hospital.
  15. How rewarding! I love to sew, but I don't care so much for alterations. However, I have been able to put off buying a ton of stuff in the middle sizes by doing some alterations to my clothes.
  16. welcome to the club! the first days can sure be rough, but it is worth it.
  17. @@Dub in high school all I wore were Levis 501 button fly jeans. When I get to goal, I will be buying a new pair or a dozen. :-) you look real comfortable in your jeans!
  18. this is great! I love to canoe. have a big outing planned in September - it's way toooooo hot now in Tennessee.
  19. I plan to make my own clothes again - in just the style I prefer. blouses, suits, coats, trousers, skirts, dresses, pretty nightgowns. I want prettier things, and better quality than I can get off the rack.
  20. welcome to the rest of your life! looks like a FABULOUS weekend up ahead for you (both)!
  21. I do think there is more good than bad........
  22. I was asked by my work to put off mine because we had another employee out on FMLA at the time (interestingly I also work for a hospital system and I also that employee who does special projects, covers just about every other non clinical position.... etc....) but I had applied for FMLA and I said, I am sorry - this is my health and possibly life we're talking about. I need to get this done as soon as I possibly can. I did have a little bit of retribution when I came back (scheduled for more late nights, and the lousier ones, etc. but that has stopped once coworkers had felt they had "gotten back at me" and life moved on (except I won't forget who did me wrong) end of the day they are not going to look for a way to fire me. I am the only one who knows how to do lots of things. FMLA is your friend. take it out especially in case you have complications. I had 4 weeks continuous leave approved and a year of 2-3 appointments per month approved in case I need them. I ended up taking 1 week continuous and 3 weeks of 6 hour days and now I still have FMLA protection if I need to go to the doctor for anything even remotely related to the surgery (such as my PCP managing blood pressure med changes as a result of the weight loss)
  23. oh no! that made me laugh out loud at work!
