  1. constipation can cause you to hold Water on top of the weight of the BM. I didn't have a pre-op diet, so I am afraid I'm not much help other than this. I hope everything goes well for you to have your surgery.
  2. my plan is 50-60 g for women 70-80 for men. I am always above that, but I stop counting when I get to that number.
  3. I hope she gets the help she needs - and yes, we have so very much to be thankful for.
  4. easier. it got easier. it's always been good, but the easier it gets to do the things I want to do, the more likely and more often I am inclined to do them. the more often I do them, the better it gets. very happy with all the ways WLS has improved my life, this area right along with everything else.
  5. I wonder if they were posting from an iphone. when I use the app it doesn't show me the various forums. when I am on the computer I can see all the different places and topics you can post to. of course WLS affects *every single aspect* of our lives, and we need to be able to discuss them as well rounded people.
  6. don't worry @@KristenLe I don't think they mean to post exclusively on a veterans forum, just as an option. my issue is whatever they vent there, if it is identifiable the people they are venting about would eventually become veterans and have access to read old posts, and to me that is just a problem waiting to happen.
  7. sounds like you are feeling pretty good too!
  8. that, and people have to realize that the people they may be irritated with may either already be vets, or will become vets if they hang around and those posts will still be there. so that may be a recipe for more infighting among those who want to go there. which can not be a good or positive thing. I am assuming the forum rules would still apply.
  9. if she needs a friend she can talk to openly I would be more than willing to email with her.
  10. this was one of the reasons I chose the sleeve. I take salmon oil for ADD. and I needed to be able to continue taking that capsule, and a few other supplements, I also take benadryl sometimes, and I keep it on hand as I have a serious allergy to certain bee stings.
  11. that is fabulous!!! way to go!
  12. google texts from mom. they get me EVERY_TIME. I may or may not be this kind of mom..........
  13. you're right that it's only a tool, but my goodness what a powerful tool it is! most people who have the surgery - once they are past the first rough weeks are absolutely glad they did it and only wish they had done so sooner.
  14. most people who loose weight gain it back. I guess it all depends on if you think you can follow this diet for the rest of your life without surgery or else how many times are you willing to yo yo back and forth. for me, I was more afraid of the obesity than the surgery - but only you can make that decision for yourself.
  15. my plan says to avoid alcohol. However, I love a good glass of wine or whiskey. but you know they are straight up carbs? so no way am I doing so in early days when I want to keep loosing weight. After that I will cautiously try a glass at home with my husband and see how my stomach handles it. I don't like alcohol enough to keep imbibing if it isn't setting right with me anymore. and he and my best friend have permission to tell me straight up if I am not handling it as well as I think I am. I don't need any kind of transfer addictions. no thank you.
  16. when you fix your Protein drinks what do you use? you may need something like fairlife milk which doesn't have lactose. perhaps that is an issue for you? not sure.
  17. @@perforce I also experienced this, but I added in a protein bar. I try to keep my calorie deficit between 500-800 calories a day, roughly and it keeps my weight loss trucking along. four months this week, and at almost 40% of excess weight off of me. feels real good!
  18. I do not think most stores use normal, or average in their models. so, I don't think you can go by that. it would be more helpful to look for pictures of women who will be about the same height and near your goal weight, although even that can be deceptive because we do not all carry our weight the same way. so, I would focus on what style of clothes you want to wear when your body is wherever it is going to settle weight wise. I love pinterest for this! I have a whole what to wear board. some of it is overthetop but there are things in there that I actually aspire to have in my closet once I get close to my goal.
  19. I was bad regarding this - I just followed my normal routine except I did not put coconut oil on my belly. I hope you find something you like!
  20. one thing I have invested in is some small ramekins - about the size around of a coffee cup and then if I am having something warm I put it on a cup warmer so that it warms up the ramekin and keeps my food the right temperature. has saved a few dishes for me.
  21. one fact is, you are not likely eating enough to gain FAT. so there are other things going on here, as our bodies are complex. it is frustrating to change your whole way of eating and not wake up skinny. I am right there with ya on that - but the program works, and so you just keep following it - and you will make progress.
  22. yes, the liquid diet phase is the hardest for most of us. will absolutely say a prayer for you!
  23. I was allowed it at one month, but in the beginning it gave me somewhat of a sour stomach, and I really don't want to spend my life on a ppi if I can help it so I treated it like a dessert, only occasionally. now at 4 months it doesn't bother me at all, so I have it most every work day. I use half and half and stevia or sugar.
  24. seriously, you need to put this in your signature line, so it keeps showing and everyone can see it! very helpful info right there!
