drinking protein shakes after surgery..?
It will be difficult, but you will need to do everything you can to get at least 64 oz of fluid and to reach your protein target (mine is 100 grams). Fortunately, for me, I was able to count my protein towards my fluid target. Sip, sip, sip like it is your job and you can do it.

When could you eat fish post-op?
I had tuna and salmon during my soft phase.

One odd fact about you
I couldn't think of anything until I read this. I won a trip to Hawaii (have been twice including the trip I won). My ultimate WLS goal is to go back to Hawaii and learn to surf.

soft foods stage
My salmon was grilled by my brother-in-law.

Learning to Put Yourself First (Sometimes!)
If you don't put yourself first and die from ill health due to obesity or even just become less mobile because of obesity, who is going to care for your son? It sounds to me like the smart thing is to take care of yourself first so you CAN take care of your son. If YOU don't, who will?

soft foods stage
When I was on soft foods I ate a lot of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, turkey, salmon, refried beans, green beans, etc. You can still do everything that was allowed during the clear and full liquid phases, too.

First two weeks....
My first week was Clear Liquids with a couple of exceptions: Water, ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, Syntrax nectar, premier Protein, ProtiDiet creamy chicken and tomato basil Soups, crystal light, crushed ice, sugar free Popsicles, etc. My second week was full liquids so all of the above plus: GNC lean 25 shakes, Greek yogurt (light and for Greek), v8, etc. My protein target is 100 grams and my Fluid minimum target is 64 oz. I track my food in MyFitnessPal.

Post op - all liquids
My Fluid target is at least 64 oz. 28 oz is extremely low. You definitely need to stay on top of your fluids so you don't experience dehydration.

Baby food
No. There were plenty of options that were actually real food.

What mobile apps do you use?
I use MyFitnessPal along with my Misfit Shine fitness tracker.

Advice needed
Why would YOU feel disrespected? I wasn't aware that someone else's choices related to being healthy have anything to do with you? You have different bodies, different life experience. Just curious.

Myself!
I am job hunting right now and certainly understand. One of the most valuable things I have been doing is mock interviewing. I have been working with a career counselor. Mock interviewing is a great way to practice and prepare for interviews.

How can I accelerate weight loss?
My advice? Stay off the scale. Follow your program. Track your food. Focus on getting in at least 64 oz of Fluid a day and reaching your Protein target. Avoid added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches and fried foods. Exercise when cleared. Practice eating mindfully, eating slowly, taking small bites, and chewing thoroughly. Did I mention staying off the scale?

Burgoo is a Kentucky specialty. SORT of like Brunswick Stew. I'll see if I can find a recipe online.

Lord, I wish. Actually, the one I actually won had decent odds. The one I ALMOST won (by a photo finish nose) was against the odds-on favorite and set a track record. IF I had won I would have done very well. But, I count my $2 and $5 bet losses as my price for fun and admission. I am certainly not a high roller.

Help! Avocado!
I agree. Avocado alone is rich. Adding mayo would have put it way over the top.

NSV: Keeneland
One of my favorite places in the whole world is Keeneland racecourse. I haven't been able to go to the races in years. It has been hard, especially since I moved to central Kentucky four years ago, to be so close and yet know I couldn't navigate the seats, walking, stairs, distance from bathrooms, etc. I was able to go to opening day on Friday! It was a beautiful day and I was able to fit in the reserved seats, had no trouble making it to the bathrooms and was able to walk a good bit (even though I used the handicap shuttle to get back to the car ---- I am not on that good of physical shape, yet). I am even planning to try to go back again during this meet. By the way, I had burgoo for lunch.

Post op vitamins advise
I like the bariatric advantage calcium chews. Other than that I get all my other vitamins at CVS, drugstore.com, or other retailer.

Clear liquids
Does it have Protein? How much sugar? It sounds like it wouldn't be a great choice to be. How are you doing at reaching your protein target? Try Isopure, ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, Syntrax nectar, bone broth, or similar high protein clear options.
