  1. This might make a good option if you had time to order it or had a local source. Another option might be a Protein powder mug cake.
  2. Why do you live with someone you can't trust?
  3. Depending on where you are in your program there are lots of options. Off the top of my head: protein pudding, protein shakes, protein bars, fresh fruit/berries, protein hot chocolate, Greek yogurt, etc.
  4. I didn't have a puréed phase but when so was on soft foods I was able to eat melted cheese in addition to cottage and ricotta cheese. I would think cream cheese is also soft enough. If in doubt about what is allowed on your program, you could always give your NUT a call and ask.
  5. In addition to protein shakes, I also had during the full liquid phase: Greek yogurt ProtiDiet creamy chicken and tomato basil soups ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates V8 decaf or herbal tea ProtiDiet hot chocolate
  6. 3 premier Protein shakes is 90 grams of protein and 33 oz of Fluid.
  7. Good observations. One thing I have been thinking about lately, especially with many of the issues that are being brought to the surface because of the US political campaign is sexual abuse. I know a large part of my obesity is the result of me building a literal wall against unwanted attention/pain. Even though I never experienced overt sexual abuse, the memories of bullying, ostracism, ridicule, unwanted comments, catcalls, rejection, harassment, and discrimination are very vivid. Much of it because I am female, but more so because I am a fat female.
  8. I agree. Focus on the protein, take a shake or something similar just in case, drink lots of water, and skip the alcohol.
  9. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  10. It might be too early to go back. I recommend you talk to someone in your disability services/dean of Students office or similar about possible accommodations: whether it is needing extra time out of class, or something else. One thing I found challenging soon after surgery was mental focus/fuzziness. You may experience some of that which could impact your school work.
  11. I can't remember how long I used mine. Why not call and ask how long they want you to use them?
  12. I am so jealous! The special was interesting because it went behind the scenes of writing the show.
  13. I liked: Premier Protein GNC Lean 25 (orange cream is my favorite) ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates ProtiDiet creamy chicken and tomato basil Soups WonderSlim dark chocolate pudding Syntrax nectar It didn't have a schedule as I pretty much sipped something all the time early out in order to get in my 100 grams of protein and fluids. The only thing I used to mix my protein shakes/soups/puddings was Water.
  14. Don't wait! One of my favorite rewards is getting a massage. The massage therapist periodically puts gift certificates on sale so I usually buy them then. Getting a massage is one of my very favorite things in life. At the very least treat yourself to a good manicure.
  15. I watched the Hamilton special last night. Since it was a beautiful fall day in central Kentucky I decided to take a road trip this afternoon to a state park and listened to my Hamilton CD all the way there and back, turned way up! This is an NSV because a year ago I could never have taken a spontaneous road trip like that!
  16. Having a 3-year old at home would be a major reason to NOT have surgery at the same time. Right after surgery, even with no complications, you won't be able to lift a child and your activity will be somewhat limited. I echo the suggestion for couples counseling and/or solo counseling.
  17. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Everyone experiences stalls and just about everyone stalls three weeks after surgery. Just follow your program, focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, stay off the scale, and Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall.
  18. I am a big believer in that everything happens for a reason. There are benefits and drawbacks to both partners having surgery on the same day. If it doesn't work out that you both are scheduled together that may mean it will work out better to do it separately. Personally, I think it is important that even with your fears, that you go into surgery confident that it is the right decision for you regardless of what the other partner decides. Best of luck with both of your surgeries.
  19. I did several things pre-o that helped, including: Weaning myself off of carbonation. Weaning myself off of caffeine. Tracking my food. Practicing mindful eating. Reading, a lot. Participating in BariatricPal. Choosing one small thing to focus on at a time is a great strategy.
  20. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. We all experience periodic stalls and just about everyone has a stall about three weeks post-op. Just follow your program, make sure you are getting in your Protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, stay off the scale, and Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall.
  21. Initially post-op: some gas pain and constipation. Since then, nothing I can think of except a little bit of compulsive shopping because : 1) I am no longer housebound and 2) I can fit in clothes off the rack now.
  22. Yes, I count all non-caffeinated fluid towards my fluid total. But, some programs do not, so pay attention to your program recommendations.
  23. PS, I went and looked at your posts. You have posted three threads and appear to have responses on all of them.
