I think after the first two to three weeks leveling out is normal. I'm almost four weeks and am starting to go through this too. I also am experiencing acne- I have heard that fat cells carry hormones like estrogen and due to rapid weight loss our hormones can be out of rack for awhile!

Hi everyone! So I'm 2 years post op and have lost a total of 110lbs with 20 more I'd really like to lose. That last 20 doesn't want to budge as easy though! ???? Anyway, tonight for supper I made a low carb spinach lasagna which was amazing and a regular lasagna for the family with garlic knot rolls. I thought I'd have a half of the roll, well it seemed to go down so easy I thought I would have the other half. And they were BIG rolls too!! Ummmm big mistake!!! I got up from the table and told my husband I needed to lay down a few minutes before cleaning the kitchen. That few minutes was more like 30 seconds and I hit the bathroom and got so sick!!! I vomited, heart was racing, face was red, broke out into a cold sweat...I felt like I'd been hit by a big truck!!! I tell you all that for this reason. I had gotten discouraged and felt like I could eat healthy or pretty much what I want now and that my pouch was simply just done. That it had served its purpose and didn't work anymore. Well tonight I found out otherwise!!! While it was a horrible experience, it lifted a weight off my shoulders too because I realized that my body just cannot handle certain foods and that it's up to me to monitor and choose carefully what I put in my body! With that being said, I'm determined to get this 20 lbs left off!! Protein here I come and if the bread basket is passed my way, I will remember tonight's terrible experience and pass with a smile. Dumping syndrome sucks with a capital S! But it did give perspective and power over bad choices which I thought I was losing. So thankful my "pouch" had the final say tonight and reminded me that just because it looks good doesn't mean it is! Good luck to all who read this and we do have the power and strength to win this battle over food and weight!! Hang in there!!!

So I have to say I had an amazing day!! I'm 7wks out today and finally feel like I can eat and drink with no pain/discomfort. I went to a conference today- I was initially worried about the lunch but had salad (for the first time) and a baked chicken breast, then had a taco salad for dinner- it was great not stressing myself out whether or not my pouch would agree with me today!!! Those little milestones really make a difference!!!!

Hey! I also had surgery July 22. I just went back to work this week and am exhausted too. My food isn't sitting well and I'm having problems getting my liquids down. I talked with my dr and he thinks it's most likely the stress of going back to work and just having major surgery too. I want to be able to jump up and do so much but I have to remember I do still have limits- it's only been a month!!! Hang in there and take it easy! Hopefully we will both feel better!!

I tried Cheerios 1/2 cup and it has worked for me. I have them once every two weeks or so so not every day. I tried shredded wheat but did not agree with me.
Much better habits than the overflowing bowl of coco crispies every morning.

To all of you who had surgery in the past couple of weeks best of luck to all of you. you have made the best choice to get to your goal weight.
Im not going to lie to you, its tough at first but as anyone will tell you Sip all the fluids you can stand. get in protien by whatever source you can. walk your butts off it helps ease the paint and starts you off on the exercise train.
If something/you does not feel right CALL YOUR SURGEON!!!
But it will start paying off soon, dont cheat!!! exercise and hit your daily numbers.
oh and my advise put the bathroom.scale in the closet. your body will vary daily between 2 to 3 lbs based on.alot of factors.. dont dive yourself crazy!!!! weight yourself once a week or bi-weekly. remember its just a number. judge your progress on how you feel and how your cloths fit.
I wish all of you the best health and a speedy recovery.

The pain does suck at first but it will get better, you are just two days out, you have to realize that you are going to be super weak and can't do a lot. For the first week, just taking a shower exhausted me. My advice- rest, you can get up and walk around but you aren't going to be able to walk a mile each time. As long as your getting up throughout the day you will be fine. Don't try and take on the world two days post op!!! Also go slow with foods if your able to get Jello that's good. For the first week all I could get down was Popsicles! I would stay away from the oatmeal for awhile. Good luck, take some deep breaths and don't stress!

Hey I'm 29 too but am only 2 1/2 weeks post op. before surgery I had this same problem- I had lost 75lbs and then got engaged- I gained it plus more back. It's so easy to let your guard down when you feel so comfortable in a relationship. I know how hard it is not to gain it back. Hopefully your boyfriend understands and will support you with this. You can do it! We are here to help- just remember to put yourself first rather than your relationship. That's hard I know! Keep us posted!!

After my surgery... When I woke up I would start my day out with hot tea. It really seemed to help with starting my drinking off. Since it was warm u was only able to sip it and since it tasted so delicious.. I kept at it and sometimes made a 2nd or third cup in the morning.

Yep that's where I'm at right now. I hate feeling nauseous and vomiting. Prior to the surgery I was never sick. I'm a RN in the ER, I take care of the sick am injured. I'm not one of them. This role reversal bites. I c my dr on Wednesday so I will be addressing this issue once more. One thing I know is that I can't work like this and I need it fixed so I can get back to work. LOL. Thank u for sharing. I should have remembered Reglan, we use it a lot in the ER. Thank u again. I will keep u all posted. On the up side, I've lost 41lb in 6 weeks. LOL

Well I had my second post op yesterday and what was only supposed to be a trip to the doctor turned into an overnight stay in the hospital. It turned out the constant nausea, inability to eat or drink, and constant dry heaving caused me to become severely malnourished and dehydrated. They hooked me up to an IV and did an upper GI; turns out I had some stenosis in the opening of my stomach so nothing was getting through. Good news is I'm feeling so much better now.
So FYI if you have any of these symptoms tell your doctor right away!
So far I am at the start of week 4 and down 30 lbs. yay
