How far out from your surgery are you? If its been a while you may want to ask your doctor. If there is anything I learned from my recent return to the hospital, it's always ask your doctor and never assume it's nothing.

July 2013 - Post Op Thread
Well I had my second post op yesterday and what was only supposed to be a trip to the doctor turned into an overnight stay in the hospital. It turned out the constant nausea, inability to eat or drink, and constant dry heaving caused me to become severely malnourished and dehydrated. They hooked me up to an IV and did an upper GI; turns out I had some stenosis in the opening of my stomach so nothing was getting through. Good news is I'm feeling so much better now. So FYI if you have any of these symptoms tell your doctor right away! So far I am at the start of week 4 and down 30 lbs. yay

I think the lack of motivation this far out is normal because I feel it too and I'm at about three weeks post op. I have also been dealing with a lot of anxiety attacks which I thought was weird because I've never had them before. My doctor said it was all normal and to be expected with a big change like this. So the up side is we are all normal; not that that makes it any easier to deal with lol.

Ugh I think I'm having the same problem as all of you. I feel sick no matter what I take in; water included. I just keep telling myself it will eventually pass. I just hate feeling carsick all the time.

Glad to hear that all of you are putting in such effort an dedication. It feels so good to be able to talk with people going through the same thing as me. Whenever I reach a rough patch I just look back at these posts and remind myself that this too shall pass. Keep up the good work; I'm so proud of all of us! And to those of you who are in surgery today: good luck and we'll see ya on the losing side.

How is everyone doing today? Last night I went to a birthday party and the smells of all the food gave me some serious head hunger. I think that has been the most frustrating part of this whole experience! Anyone else dealing with head hunger issues? How do you cope?- July 2013 - Post Op Thread

Well I jus went to my first post op appointment today and after 1 week I'm already down 17 lbs!!!! I wish I could tell :-/. How are you feeling Pittguy? Excited, nervous, impatient. I know my last week before surgery felt very surreal.- July 2013 - Post Op Thread
Hi everyone I'm new to this forum. My surgery was on 7/11 and I'm doing okay I think. I am drinking fluids constantly and getting in at least 2 big walks a day. I am absolutely sick of broth and strong smells are bothering me. Is anyone else having trouble with the smells of food? - July 2013 - Post Op Thread
