How do u know
I'm three weeks out and there are points it scares me what I can eat. I measure for fear. Then I will have days I can't finish 8 oz of protein shake. Just measure and we should be fine. :-).

Scared! RNY surgery on Monday 12/10.
I was terrified but even with my complications I got thorough it fine. I had mine on 11/19. I'm only down 18 pounds but I think I've lost inches. Should have measured!! I still have days where I question the surgery but overall each day gets better!!

My doc said to count the protein shakes with the liquid for us newbies. My original surgery was the 19 and I'm down about 18 pounds. My body likes to hang on.- Excited!
You can do this and the weight will come off. Just focus on protein first. It really does help!! Good luck and we are all here for you.- I Made It

I have watched about 30 episodes of law an order. Lol!! It's kept me sane. Anyway, you are so right. I was lucky to have a lot of nurses that actually had the surgery. They were so helpful!! Others were in the process. Nicky, glad to hear you are progressing. :-)- Kat, New To The Forum

Well I have been pondering this too. The good thing is one ounce of chicken (about 2 tablespoons) is 7 grams of protein so it adds up. I'm thinking we will be on shakes for a while. I've had conversations with my nut and surgeon and they agreed. It's a slow process of transitioning between the shakes to the real food. - 2 Months Post Op!
