Oral Fixation
Just want to know if other have had this issue and how do you over come it. I am 4 months post op and find myself always wanting something in my mouth. I am not hungry, but will snack to have the sensation. I have never liked gum, but have found myself buying it just to chew it. I am sure this is something with my brain, but I am frustrated and feel like I am cheating when I finally give in, Any suggestions would be great

Tummy Bug:(
I realized it is because we are not able to eat or drink much during this bug. I slept so much last week due to no energy. It has been about a week and half since it started and I am finally feeling a little better.

I have has it over a week and for most of that I hardly moved out of bed. It is some nasty little bug. Eating protein helps with the energy, but I know it is hard to think of food right now.

Surgery Was 26 Sept And Still Much Pain!
I had a real tough time after surgery. I was about 6 weeks post op when things got really bad for me. Eating made me sick every time and the smell of food made me sick to my tummy. After crying in a group post op session and in my surgeons office visit I finally got some relief. Doc worked with me and I took anti nausea meds for 4 weeks before every meal. I regreted my decision to get the surgery everyday for 2.5 months. I am now 4 months post op and feel better everyday. I am able to eat what I want and have learned how to stay in harmony with my pouch. I hated hearing things get better hang in there, but it is true.

What They Dont Tell You
I Started a new job one week post op. I had some pain, but it was mainly my clothes touching my incisions. I was still getting used to my pouch and hated not being able to eat more. However all of that is the mental aspect of this surgery.

Ugh Need Advise And Encouragement
I am struggling so much right now. I am at a stall on the scales, but it seems like my clothes are still getting looser. I am waking up with headaches every morning and having a rough time getting rid of them. I had to stay home twice this week as they were migraines. Finally I am soooooo tired. I am close to falling asleep while driving and it is hard to concentrate during work. This week I have thrown up several times and the diahrea is not fun. Just getting over a bladder infection ( my third since the surgery) Answer to most questions Surgery date June 5 2012 Lost 63 Play soccer 3 times a week Water intake about 64 - 80 oz a day Protein intake 50- 60 a day Have stopped multi vitiman because it makes me throw up. The slightest bump and I bruise - worried people are going to start thinking my hubby is beating me. If this was not enough it is the hormonal time of the month ( hystorectomy in 09) I am also starting to eat things that I know I should not See my surgeon on Monday for 4 month post op. Like I said I need ideas and encouragement!

Pre-Op Testing - It Should Not Be This Hard...
Look into other surgeons - who said you have to stay with this one. I changed because I felt the office was going to take to long. My dr office got me into surgery about a month after my first consult

The Easy Way.......
She said it was difficult to get over her addiction to food. She said it was a tool not a cure. She said she was having to retrain her brain not to eat when she had any type of emotions.!dr oz asked her why she decided to do the surgery. Her response was when everything else had failed. I felt like she got the message across that this is not the easy way out.

Dr Oz Show Today
Not sure if you get dr oz repeats, but he talked with Lisa lampaneli discussing the gastric sleeve and people taking the easy way out in many peoples eyes.

Need Advise For Athletes
Have played soccer all my life. I was really excited to play this season due to the weight loss. I was playing last season at my heavist weight of 256, and i seemed faster an more powerul. I saw myself sprinting faster my kicks would be harder and so on after the surgery. However I have noticed that it is the opposite. I am currently playing on three teams and each week I feel like my kicks and speed has declined. This evening at half time my husband even made a comment that my kicks seemed off. I know I am losing muscle as well as fat ad weights are the answer there, but just want to know is all this normal. My question is have other athletes experienced this ( the decline in your ability of your sport)? If you have what did you do to get back to your old self. I know I do not get in enough protein, and since I am playing three times a week I do not hit the gym like I was in the beginning of this journey. I am 4 months post op, and down about 66 pounds.

The Easy Way.......
I figure people say this because they are jealous of the commitment we have to a healthy life style. It is in no way easy to stand up and say I am tired of getting the same results over and over and going no where. When people ask me about rny and about the pain associated with it I am always honest. I tell them the pain of surgery was nothing to the mental toughness I have had to have. Your mind plays so many tricks on you during this journey, and I still find myself battling about what I am eating and doing. Just keep your eyes on the prize and stay true to yourself!!

The Easy Way.......
- Morning Foamies
I get them in the morning if I eat Protein first. I have to work into protein every morning.- Juice +
Does it have protein in it?- Nothing Fits!
My plan tomorrow is to go through my closet an donte what will not fit me anymore. I told my husband this morning I need to get some new pants and shirts and a new belt. I have had to add new holes to my belt. Great feeling!!- Diarrhea?
I still have it and I am 4 months out. I just make sure I have my anti diarrhea meds with me at all times.- Feeling Uneasy
I would say to listen to your inner voice as it will always tell you what is right. Many of us have a breaking point and when we reach that our minds are made up. For me it was when I could no longer clean personal areas effectively in the shower. I had been thinking of wls for sometime, but when that happened my mind was made up. I will say many of us go through a time after the surgery where we regret the decision to have this done. Please always remember that we all go through it and we all make it through it. Always keep your goal in mind!! You will be able to eat the things you miss in time, just a smaller amount!!!- Period
I had a hystorectomy in 09, but still have my ovaries. I have had bad hormone changes since my rny. I have had two ovarian cyst that have ruptured and my pimples and nightmares hve gotten worse. I think everyone reacts differently to the stress on our new bodies. - Morning Foamies
