  1. I have had the mirena in for 3 years and I love it. The only side effect is no period and to me that's a perk.
  2. I had a drain but they took it out the day after surgery. The kicker is they left the drain site open (2in wide 3in deep) I have to pack it with gauze every day. It sucks but they say it needs to heal from the inside out so it doesn't get infected
  3. Click on my name it should pop up
  4. Technically I was supposed to start soft foods today but yesterday I was craving tuna so I pureed it with Mayo mustard and dill relish it was delicious. I ate too much tho so I was uncomfortable for an hour or so. I mostly eat SF pudding mixed with protein powder and milk because I know it goes down well. I had clam chowder for lunch I went out to eat with my husband and that's really all I could have from their menu. I can have unlimited liquids without getting full. But any solids I get full fast. I need to learn to slow down. You'll get full before you realize it, by then its too late...if you want a buddy pm me ill give you my number ......Jessica
  5. I had trouble with my 3rd shift nurse as well. Lazy and rude but I loved 1st shift 2nd was OK (male nurse) not as compassionate. Take your pain meds before it gets bad that's how they work. Don't "tough it out" my Dr said people who are in pain heal slower. No need to be a martyr or hero. I'm 2 weeks out today and I still take my pain meds 2-3 times a day. Especially when I first wake up. I hold my pee til they kick in cuz it hurts to get off the couch. Hope you feel better soon
  6. I think it would be selfish if you didn't do the surgery. You'd rob your family of years of vacations and spending time with them. Look at the life span of a morbidly obese person with all of those health issues. I'm not being judgemental or mean. I was nervous too but this was the best gift I could give myself and my family. I have 4 kids and a loving husband. I've inspired my husband and stepmother to have the surgery and I'm only 2 weeks out. If you need someone to talk to pm me ill give you my number
  7. I'm almost 2 weeks out and I really wanted tuna so I pureed tuna Mayo mustard and dill relish. It tastes so good. Seems to be going down well!
  8. Maybe its your metabolism kicking in

  10. I gained nearly 20 lbs in the hospital and I've only lost 11 of it. But I'm not worried I know ill lose it
  11. I suggest protein shake for breakfast andlunch a lean protein and veggies for dinner and fresh raw veggies for snacks stay away from carbs and sugars I lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks doing that pre op. The more weight you lose the safer your surgery will be. Its hard but you can do it. Start walking every day. When I go to the store I park the furthest spot available so it forces me to walk
  12. I'm boobles too I've been a 38b since high school. 220 or 338 my bra size is the same no back rolls either. Now my booty and legs is a whole different situation I'm so outta proportion I look like a charicature. I'm 2 sizes bigger on the bottom.

  15. I'm almost 2 weeks out and I'm still on the couch. And I go thru a bag of Ice a day. I keep ice packs on the drain sight. Pain meds and g2 Gatorade are my best friends oh and I can't drink shakes so I mix sugar free pudding a scoop of protein powder and a little milk delicious
  16. G2 Gatorade is my best friend

  18. They removed my drain the day after surgery. Its an open wound that I change the packing on everyday. I cover it with gauze but it doesn't seem to have that much fluid coming out
  19. I have liquid lortab works wonderful and I don't feel high which is great cuz I hate that feeling. I don't drink or do drugs cuz I like to feel in complete control at all times.I grew up in the 80's ( born in 77) so thanks to Nancy Reagan I just say no!
  20. My incision was left open from the surgery every day I take the packing out shower then repack it myself then tape gauze on it. Not so bad. Except I look like I have a vagina on my belly lol
  21. My upper gi was u drink the liquid and they watch u swallow thru a live xray machine. The camera down your throat is an endoscopy
  22. Can someone get it for you? That would help. Tell them (er staff) you're in pain now that you haven't had ur meds since 10.... get demanding. Tell them you need something. Where do you live? What hospital? If you need someone to talk to pm me ill give u my number we can text I had my surgery 6/11
  23. I'm so sorry my incision was left open and I change the packing every day. All the fluid is draining into gauze. I couldn't imagine how u feel do u have ur lortab with u? I'd take a double dose right now
