Im New To This Site Please Help!
I understand completely how you feel. My surgery was on 4/20. I lost a bunch at first and now it just hanging on to the same 5 pounds. Keep your head up. Keep doing what you are supposed to do. This will work. I get down on myself sometimes too, but it only makes it worse. Congrats on the 20pounds and going to the gym. It will work.

Getting Depressed
I am not sure how far out from surgery you are, but exercise is key and the protein...which is the two things I struggle with. The pool should help with your exercise. I notice myself feeling down a lot since the surgery. I pick myself back up a lot, but maybe you need something (like a prize) to help motivate you. I just ate Mexican because I got down to 250. I ate chicken fajitas (just the chicken and vegetables). But it was amazing.

10 Hours Post Op
So glad to hear you are doing so well. Keep drinking and walking and that will help move the gas out. Hope you keep doing this well.

Hit A Plateau :(
I have had that too. Don't let it get you down. 2 pounds is no big deal. You will lose that. I am almost wondering if your body is going through a starvation thing....where it thinks you are trying to starve yourself so it is storing everything instead of using it. I am not a doctor, but that is the only explanation that I have when you are eating as little as you do (because there is no choice) and then you gain two pounds. In fact I think it was around the same time I did that...and then again last week. It sucks bad, but I don't think its anything you are doing, its just your body adjusting.

Hit A Plateau :(
Honestly, I am not sure. Everytime I have dieted (before the surgery) this exact same thing would happen to me. I would eat right/exercise and I would lost 20-25lbs and then stop. I would get frustrated and give up. Everyone would tell me that its because I am gaining muscle, but I never really believed that. I just thought people were trying to be nice and make me feel better. LOL I contacted my dietician. I have not got a response back yet. I think I am just freaking out because this has happened to me soooo many times that I am a little sensitive to this. My husband refuses to let me take my measurements until next friday (the 2 month mark) he said because I am too obsessed with the scale already. :/ God, I love that man. He keeps me gounded (as much as any one person could I guess). You will do this. You can make this happen. Its frustrating sometimes. You hit bumps in the road, but so far not like any other diet I have been on...and I think I tried them all.

Hit A Plateau :(
Thanks so much newlife2012. I took my daughter to volunteer today and I had 3 people that said I look a lot different than I did a week ago, so apparently it is working...the scales are not showing it is though. Just to let you know at 3 weeks all I was doing was walking 30-45mins too, that is how fast things change. I can even do 40-50 sit ups now. I am actually 6.5weeks out now. You can do it. It's almost as if my energy just switched overnight.

Hit A Plateau :(
Got on the scale again this morning and it says 251. Why can't I hit 250? I feel like I have been eating good, doing my exercises. This is so frustrating to me and I can't figure out why. I have lost 46pounds in 6 weeks. I have never been able to do that on my own, but I just can't shake this feeling of failure! I feel like the scale should be moving faster and its not. Has anyone else felt this way?

Abdominal Exercises
My surgeon told me that I was under no restrictions when I went to see him at my 4 week appointment. He said if it hurts really bad, then stop. So I would check with your surgeon, but once you have been "released" then you should be fine to do whatever you want to.

Constipation Anyone?
Not to be too grose but does that make you "go" everyday? I am just wondering if this might help me feel better because sometimes I get that bloated feeling and gas, and this might solve this.

Constipation Anyone?
I have the same problem. It started about 2 weeks out from surgery for me. If I haven't "gone" in 3 days I take a dose of Mirilax. I take the recommended dose which is the full white cap and it works. It isn't harsh (for me anyway) it just helps you "go". I have been told that this is a lifetime thing. Just one more medicine ya gotta take. Hopefully you get some relief, but don't let yourself go too long, because I get miserable if I do. Hope this helps you and anyone else.

What's Your Goal Other Than Weight Loss
I am wanting to run in a marathon. Not a big one, just to say I did. I also want to be able to go to Amusement Parks and be able to ride. I want to be comfortable on an airplane. I want to run and play with my kids. I know, I don't have a lot do I? Lol I hope I can do this. I want this for myself so bad.

Hit A Plateau :(
Hello, I am 6 weeks post surgery and apparently I have hit a plateau. I am down 42 pounds since surgery. I am working out everyday with different things, treadmill, ab Lounger, Zumba, biggest loser workout, wii fit, ect. The one thing I can do say is that my protein is a little low. I'm having trouble getting a full shake down. Tried many...trying a new one tomorrow. I just can't stomach a whole one. I can't do the unflavored because I can taste it. Any ideas on why I hit this plateau and how can I move forward...5 more pounds and my husband is getting me a big surprise. Thanks!

New To Site...
Hello! I am a full time student/mother of 3 kids. I have been struggling with my weight since I was 9 years old. I have always used food to comfort me. Well I am now at the age of 32. I am 5ft 9inches tall and before I went in for my RNY surgery on April 20th I weighed 297 pounds. I went on the liquid pre-op diet and on the morning of surgery weighed 285. I weighed in at my 4 week mark and I now weigh 258 pounds and have lost 15inches. The diet has been difficult until I reached the point where I could eat more than soft foods. I feel better eating some protein. I still cannot get much of the shakes down, but I am taking it one day at a time. I look forward to going through this journey with all of you, who will be going on with your own journey. Good luck to each and every one of us to reach our goals.

Emotions
Hello, I am almost 5 weeks out and I have been having the same feelings. In just the short time I have been feeling better. When you get to the point where you get to add more foods it does get better.
