segatz80 got a reaction from work2Bskinny in kicked off of a fair ride....
I was always a ride girl! Never afraid & loved them!! A few years ago when I got to my most heaviest, I just stopped. I feared things malfunctioning or wires snapping because of the force my body would put on everything. Last year before Hurricane Sandy, my family went to Seaside Heights & everyone was riding the rides, except me. I was attempting to go on a haunted house ride with my brother but my sister subltly stopped me & urged me to look at the size of the cars that I would have to sit in. Needless to say, I skipped that ride as well.
Well I didn't know that would be my last chance to ride the Wild Mouse, since it ended up in the Atlantic Ocean a few months later
I'm 2 weeks post op & one my main motivations is to lose weight so I can COMFORTABLY & WITHOUT ANXIETY ride any ride in any amusement park anywhere!!! Plus I think the less I weigh, the faster I will fly down those Water slides!!
Congrats to everyone for continuing to reach for their goals & get healthy!!

segatz80 got a reaction from Healthy_life2 in I need a Sleeve Buddy! ASAP
    I was sleeved 12.3.2013:
At my heaviest I was 339lbs
    Surgery Day I was 332lbs
    Today I am 223 (was 222 but apparently gained a pound..yikes!)
I have been 222-222 since my wedding day 9.21.2014
    I know why:
#1 I have NOT been sticking to my diet
#2 I have NOT been exercising like I should be
The worst part: I seem to be eating more & more each day & my food cravings have returned full force!
Physically, my body gets full. Psychologically, I am never completely satisfied anymore.
I miss the days when I would eat 2-3 bites of food, feel full, & not want to think about food for several hours. Now after I finish Breakfast all I do is think about lunch!
    HELP!

Hey more of a sex drive, nice perk! I hope that happens to me. My lack of interest is a part of what messed up my marriage. (Just separated from my wife of almost 6 years)
Buttcheeks...lol I think to fully understand I just need to experience it.
    Congrats on your engagement!!!!

Many people like Premier Protein ready-to-drink individual 11 oz cartons. Available at costco, Sam's Club in vanilla, chocolate, and just starting to be available in strawberry. Other locations too (some grocery stores, pharmacies carry them in smaller 4 packs, etc).
30 gm of Protein, 160 cal
Other people say they're too sweet. I like 'em 'cuz they're easy, quick, portable, and satisfy 30gm of protein at once!

Today I went to a small Water park. I didn't feel tired the entire time. I actually fit in the inner tube. I was able to walk up and down stairs and didn't feel tired at all.
The suit I had last summer was super loose. I need a new one. I could really tell my chest has shrunk. When I got out of the water that part of the suit looked like a deflated balloon.

I was 4 months on April 3rd & I love Protein shakes!!! I either drink a GNC Total Lean or make my own with powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt, & frozen berries. I work 2 jobs so I need the convenience. And they taste great to me!!
I plan on drinking Protein shakes for a long, long time. My doctor says he would like the majority of my calories & protein to come from "real food" but it's a lot easier to drink my protein then sit down and eat chicken or fish sometimes.
Whatever works for you that keeps the protein going in & is healthy!!
    Good luck!

I will say it gets better. We've all been there. Eat slowly, drink your Water (crystal light, diet snaple) even if it's just small sips all day long get it down. Part of the pain at first is because you're swallowing air and your body is learning. Also, when you feel up to it exercise even if it's just going for a walk.
Take a look at your Protein Shake they are not all the same. I'm a coach with beachbody and our shakeology is more than just Protein it's about 70 different superfoods all jammed into your drink. Drinking shakeology is when I started to feel my best. Have energy, want Water, and it was because of the extra nutrients.
I wish you much success and if I can help in any way please contact me www.beachbody.com/kylieann712 . With the sleeve and shakeology I have lost 74 pounds in the last 10 months. I went from a size 24 to a size 8. I am so in love with my new body. I hope you'll get to that point with yours.

segatz80 got a reaction from nesa83 in Feeling mixed emotions.
I'm 7 weeks post-op & I can tolerate most foods. Salads are fine as long as the veggies are not super crunchy (raw carrots) & I omit celery (too fiberous), even though celery is one of my fave foods! I stay away from mashed potatoes because I LOOOOOVE them but they do not love me anymore
Unjury products are great! I use the cheese sauce over steamed broccoli. Greek yogurt is my hero! I can always get that down no matter what. I have to admit that I have given in to temptations a handful of times. My boyfriend made pancakes the other day & I ate half of one. But I paid for it for about 45 mins with pain & discomfort! I also ordered a toasted bagel with light cream cheese without even thinking on my way to work one morning and after my second bite that horrible feeling happened & I had to suffer at work for almost an hour!
Also, the other day & started to get a horrible headache at work & my coworker poured a small cup of regular caffinated soda for me & I sipped it slowly. My headache went away but my tummy was quite upset with me for a while!
Deli meats are fine, a small 4-6 oz glass of milk works wonders for any tummy upset & trouble sleeping, hard boiled eggs, tuna salad, chicken, fish, etc. I also love GNC Total Lean Protein shakes: 25 grams of protein & they taste great.
I miss things like an English muffin with my egg whites or a comforting PB&J sandwich with a glass of milk, but the scale numbers keep me very focus, motivated, & happy!
It really comes down to trying things to see how you handle them. I was never a big fish eater, but with all the great recipes out there, I have fish 2-3 times a week! And plain, non-fat Greek yogurt can be used in place of mayo & sour cream in evreything!
Oh also, I was always a guzzler of natural fruit juices (OJ, apple), but they make me feel horrible for a super long time! Too much suger, even though it's natural sugar from the fruit, it's just too much and I feel sick to my stomach & dizzy for the rest of the day even after one sip! Plain Water, G2, diet Snapple, tea, Crystal Light: the only way to go for liquids!

I'm having the same issues. I hate eating. It hurts & there's no joy in it. I am drinking a lot more than I ever have & that has made a world of difference. I used to come home from work with my ankles & feet looking like elephant legs because they were so swollen. Since I've been back to work, I have not experienced this at all!
I love the Crystal Light squirties (like Mio) I have several at my desk. I also like GNC Total Lean Protein Shakes. They have 25 grams of Protein & they don't taste bad. It isn't a chocolate milkshake, but not bad at all.
I think I will try the Isopure, since that seems to be a reasonable way to get a lot of protein with little effort & that's what eating is now, much effort!
I'm glad we are all in this together though!!!
SoBe Lifewater has some cool flavors, too.
Mix it up, try lots of different things!
    Good luck to all!!

I live in Orlando FL near Disney, Universal Studios, and Sea World. I practically grew up riding roller coasters here. My most embarrassing moment was about 3 or 4 years ago when I went to Busch Gardens Tampa and couldn't get on one of the rides. I was with my sister and guy friend who I was crushing on at the time. I knew I had to do something about my weight if I wanted to go do the fun and adventurous things I wanted to do. I only learned about bariatric surgery this year and I'm currently pre-op with Dr. Kim at Celebration Hospital (no surgery date yet). I'm 23 now and plan on going sky diving when I reach my goal weight or for my 25th birthday (whichever comes first).
