I am 2 weeks post op. Today is my first day back to work. I am happy yet unhappy
I'm happy my surgery was a success with little complications & I'm already back to work.
I'm unhappy because eating is now a chore & I am definitely not getting enough protein or nutrients.
I eat 2 or 3 bites of tuna or eggs & I get a breathtaking pain in my stomach that forces me to stop. The pain lasts about 30 minutes. Also, when I get hungry I get the same pain.
The only things I can really tolerate are water, Crystal Light, & protein shakes.
I am also having a lot of trouble sleeping.
But the thing that bothers me the most is I am totally exhausted! I walk from my car to my office & feel like I've run the Boston Marathon. Waking up, showering, & getting dressed leaves me wanting a nap. I had to use a scooter the other day in the store because I knew I couldn't walk the entire store without assistance.
I know I sound like a whiner & most have you have been where I am.
I'm just looking for reassurance that these things are normal & will improve!
I'd also like the hear anyone else's recovery stories & what helped them through this time.
Thank you!!
