  1. I was sleeved 12.3.2013: At my heaviest I was 339lbs Surgery Day I was 332lbs Today I am 223 (was 222 but apparently gained a pound..yikes!) I have been 222-222 since my wedding day 9.21.2014 I know why: #1 I have NOT been sticking to my diet #2 I have NOT been exercising like I should be The worst part: I seem to be eating more & more each day & my food cravings have returned full force! Physically, my body gets full. Psychologically, I am never completely satisfied anymore. I miss the days when I would eat 2-3 bites of food, feel full, & not want to think about food for several hours. Now after I finish Breakfast all I do is think about lunch! HELP!
  2. Feeling kinda defeated by myself...

  3. Everytime I eat, it feels stuck in my throat & burns. I feel like I'm choking & my throat is burning. Any thoughts?

  4. Amazing how different bodies wear different sizes!!!! At my heaviest (339lbs) I was wearing a size 24. I'm 242lbs now & wearing a size 18! I'd love to get down to a size 10 at my goal!!

    Best tasting Protein shakes?

I love GNC Total Lean in Vanilla, chocolate, & strawberry. 170 calories, low sugar, 25g Protein. I bring a case to work so I know I always have a high protein meal or snack. I want to try those Muscle Milk 100 suggestions above! They sound delicious!

    That's weird?!

Ok...here it goes: Well, I've never had a problem with constipation. I do now! Not really weird or strange but a pain in the butt! (literally) Also, my libido is off the charts!!! I can't get enough! I guess with all the energy I have since I'm not dragging around all that extra weight sex is fun again! I got engaged in February so I guess the whole libido thing is working for both of us! Probably the weirdest thing I've noticed is that my butt cheeks don't touch as much as they used to. I don't really know how to explain this. Like before, at my heaviest, I really had to work my hand in there in the shower to properly clean myself & also after using the restroom. It's not an issue anymore, at all.

    Why Can't I Lose Weight?

I am also 4 months out & have hit a wall with my weight loss. I'm down 74 lbs & very happy about that but I have 90 more to go!!! This is supposed to be the time we are dropping it like it's hot! I blame my plateau on cheating on my diet, not getting enough Water in, & not exercising enough. Sooooo...I'm back on the horse & starting drinking Protein shakes again, parking at the far end of the lot, and putting myself on a food & supplement schedule. I have 5 alarms on my phone that go off every time it's time for me to take my supplements and/or eat. I'm also squeezing exercise in wherever I can. I brought an 8lb dumbbell set to work and do arm exercises during down time. I also do butt clenches & squats. I get very weird looks from my co-workers, but screw it! I'm loving all the new found energy I have everyday! I'm pretty much living on Protein Shakes, egg whites, grilled chicken, tuna salad, G2 & Powerade Zero, & Greek yogurt. That's really all we can do, right?? But you should be proud of 50 lbs, that's 50 lbs less your carrying around! Good job!!
  13. I was 4 months on April 3rd & I love Protein shakes!!! I either drink a GNC Total Lean or make my own with unjury protein, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt, & frozen berries. I work 2 jobs so I need the convenience. And they taste great to me!! I plan on drinking Protein shakes for a long, long time. My doctor says he would like the majority of my calories & protein to come from "real food" but it's a lot easier to drink my protein then sit down and eat chicken or fish sometimes. Whatever works for you that keeps the protein going in & is healthy!! Good luck!

  17. I am 2 weeks post op. Today is my first day back to work. I am happy yet unhappy I'm happy my surgery was a success with little complications & I'm already back to work. I'm unhappy because eating is now a chore & I am definitely not getting enough protein or nutrients. I eat 2 or 3 bites of tuna or eggs & I get a breathtaking pain in my stomach that forces me to stop. The pain lasts about 30 minutes. Also, when I get hungry I get the same pain. The only things I can really tolerate are water, Crystal Light, & protein shakes. I am also having a lot of trouble sleeping. But the thing that bothers me the most is I am totally exhausted! I walk from my car to my office & feel like I've run the Boston Marathon. Waking up, showering, & getting dressed leaves me wanting a nap. I had to use a scooter the other day in the store because I knew I couldn't walk the entire store without assistance. I know I sound like a whiner & most have you have been where I am. I'm just looking for reassurance that these things are normal & will improve! I'd also like the hear anyone else's recovery stories & what helped them through this time. Thank you!!

    Feeling mixed emotions.

I'm 7 weeks post-op & I can tolerate most foods. Salads are fine as long as the veggies are not super crunchy (raw carrots) & I omit celery (too fiberous), even though celery is one of my fave foods! I stay away from mashed potatoes because I LOOOOOVE them but they do not love me anymore Unjury products are great! I use the cheese sauce over steamed broccoli. Greek yogurt is my hero! I can always get that down no matter what. I have to admit that I have given in to temptations a handful of times. My boyfriend made pancakes the other day & I ate half of one. But I paid for it for about 45 mins with pain & discomfort! I also ordered a toasted bagel with light cream cheese without even thinking on my way to work one morning and after my second bite that horrible feeling happened & I had to suffer at work for almost an hour! Also, the other day & started to get a horrible headache at work & my coworker poured a small cup of regular caffinated soda for me & I sipped it slowly. My headache went away but my tummy was quite upset with me for a while! Deli meats are fine, a small 4-6 oz glass of milk works wonders for any tummy upset & trouble sleeping, hard boiled eggs, tuna salad, chicken, fish, etc. I also love GNC Total Lean protein shakes: 25 grams of protein & they taste great. I miss things like an English muffin with my egg whites or a comforting PB&J sandwich with a glass of milk, but the scale numbers keep me very focus, motivated, & happy! It really comes down to trying things to see how you handle them. I was never a big fish eater, but with all the great recipes out there, I have fish 2-3 times a week! And plain, non-fat Greek yogurt can be used in place of mayo & sour cream in evreything! Oh also, I was always a guzzler of natural fruit juices (OJ, apple), but they make me feel horrible for a super long time! Too much suger, even though it's natural sugar from the fruit, it's just too much and I feel sick to my stomach & dizzy for the rest of the day even after one sip! Plain water, G2, diet Snapple, tea, Crystal Light: the only way to go for liquids!

    pain after workouts?

I'm 7 weeks out & I've noticed that certain exercises I do, particularly strength training, result is some discomfort and strain in my gut. I'm sure it's just the muscles mending & getting used to being back to exercise after many weeks of virtually nothing! If the pain is stabbing or you feel it's a little too intense, no harm in a doctor's visit! Good job on getting back to healthy!
  22. What is the deal?? I haven't lost any weight in almost 3 weeks. I'm 7 weeks post-op. I should not have stalled this quickly. I have so much weight to lose!

The same thing happened to me after 5 weeks post op. Be sure to track your eating and exercise. Your body is adjusting to the fast weight loss it had.

Well, I hopped on the scale & I'm down another 10 lbs.

My clothes are very loose & I'm wearing jeans I haven't worn in 6 years. So that's good. I just have to stop being so impatient. I also have to step up my exercise routine.

      Thanks, guys!

  23. I can't shake this awful feeling I have most days. It's like nausea, butterflies, headache, & fatigue. The only time I feel good is when I am sitting in my recliner after taking an anit-nausea pill & drinking a small glass of milk. I get up everyday, go to work, try to eat right, try to exercise, hoping that any day now I will feel like my old self (only lighter!). My sister had lap-band & she said everything I'm feeling is normal as she felt the same way for about 2 months. But reading the forums on here, it seems like everyone is totally back to normal by this time. The one bright spot is that I'm down almost 40lbs. I just ordered some samples from Unjury because I've been having difficulty getting all my protein in from food, so I'm going to up my intake by adding their unflavored protein to things like sugar free pudding & veggie chili as well as making more protein shakes. Last night was a horrible night at work but thats probably because Can someone shed some light on anything I can do to help me feel better? Thanks everyone!
  24. I'm really finding it hard to get my water intake. I'm almost positive that is why I'm not feeling so great. I danced a lot on New Year's Eve & although I was always getting a glass of water from the bar, I did myself in & ended up dry heaving for 15 minutes when I got home from pure exhausting & dehydration. I find that if I really concentrate on keeping hydrated I don't feel as crappy. All the flavored waters I've been drinking & plain water are all "played out" right now so I'm always looking for new flavors to try. I'm working my way through the SoBe Life Water varieties. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE roasted meat in gravy!! Whatever I don't finish, my loving dog gets the rest! So he's very happy, too!
  25. Thanks guys, these are all great suggestions! How do we feel about those already cooked meats in gravy that you just have to heat & serve? And I think I have been doing myself a disservice with fruit juice. It just may be the blood sugar highs & lows that are doing me in! Again, thanks for all the advice!!! And keep it coming! We rock!!!
