  1. Okay, I couldn't figure out where to post this question without starting a new controversial thread, so I thought I would post here and continue the established thread.... Is it normal of me to be pissy because of lack of sex? I mean, sure I have the slumber rumbler and gyrating toys, but hubby and I have been schedule misfits for 2 months!!! When am I going to get laid?? I am getting pissy about it. When I want to, he can't. When he wants to, I can't. When we both want to, we can't because son is around. I just want to SCREAMMMMMMMM I am so frustrated. I think I need to start taking stock in Duracell. Am I right to be upset about this? We are both super busy right now and I can't even begin to tell you when it will stop (not till about summer!!!) for a break in all the business.
  2. Still make sure you keep your doctors appt though. I think all of the technical questions would be for them.
  3. I like the Smart Ones dinners. The South Beach dinners are good too.
  4. I actually think it is just some creative fundraising. Good for her. I don't think she meant for US to donate, but that the story it tells as her intro. We have all tried a bunch of things, but maybe she will actually get some "sponsors" out of this. Maybe someone who is overweight themselves but either does not want to have the surgery, or can't for another reason, but wants to sponsor someone elses life to change. Come on people, lets be more open minded about this. Geez, what about that pregnant woman that uses her belly as marketing and gets a ton of money for it... bad? Nope, just good business skills. I say if she can raise the money through donations, then more power to her! She isn't tricking anyone to donate, it is a straight forward request and obvious donation. She isn't calling around to unsuspecting seniors asking for them to donate to a firefighters luncheon or anything... Geez, sometimes this place is too judgemental. Let's be a little more open minded. As far as I am concerned...... YOU GO GIRL!
  5. I agree with what Dody said. I will all be okay, no worries just yet!

I got an idea.... how about a gift certificate to www.slumberpartiesbylisab.com ???? I know I know, bad of me, but I just couldn't resist.
  7. Okay, I have to get involved because I am a police officer and can offer some factual data here. First off, threats are NOT an assault. They are just that, threats and intimidation. You must have more than your word here to back you up. A tape recording, other neighbors statements, etc. As far as the noise, I get called all the darn time for noise complaints yet the people that call never want to be contacted or known. WE can't cite for civil noise complaints. Its not that we don't care, its not that we don't want you to sleep, but we need someone to stand up and say "I want to press charges, I want to be the victim in this case, I will go to court and testify if need be." Yes, the first time, quiet it down, the second time, cite them. BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE A WITNESS AND SOMEONE WILLING TO BE A VICTIM. So when you all are calling about noise complaints on your neighbor... when the dispatcher asks if you want contact, say YES!!! The ordinances in place are not protecting the loud neighbor, they are protecting their right to not be cited without someone willing to be the victim and testify against them. And in order for that to happen, they have every right to know who is accusing them of the ordinance infraction. Loud and distrubing noises coming from the residences are protected by local ordinance only, there are no state or federal laws for that. Each city has their own times and wording. For example, for my city it is midnight-5am for "quiet zoning" and is a Class 1 Misdemeanor for violation IF I have a victim willing to jump through the hoops with me. As far as the police witnessing before CPS is involved is not true. Yes, they do sometimes come at our command, but there have been numerous times I have made reports and called them and they didn't come. They are overworked, understaffed, and their policies and procedures suck. Unfortunately, being a shitty asshole of a parent doesn't constitute gross negligence and abuse. Spanking or cursing at your children is not abuse according to any of the state or federal standards in the US. It just means your a shitty parent in any normal parents eyes. They can't take your kids for that. I wish they could, but they can't. If you SEE them hit in an area other than the traditional buttocks, and you feel that it has caused injury to the child (there must be injury such as bruising, broken bones, etc) then you should definitely make a report. You can always call, but remember, they are overworked already and doing paperwork on your case that will go nowhere is keeping them from another case that may go somewhere. There is no "file" that gets kept on them. If it is unfounded, the case is expunged and erased. This keeps parents from sabotaging each other when the marriage is in a fight for custody. They can't say that the other has a "file" unless a charge was founded as valid. I would definitely keep a journal of the incidents and complain to your landlord. But unless you are willing to take the additional steps needed to go legally against them, it is a mere civil matter and the police will not take action.
  8. I would still do a surgery, just probably not the band. I just feel that the band isn't maybe the "lifelong" committment that I once thought it was. I would feel better if I knew someone who had the band LONG term, say 12 years +. I love my band now, and now that I have it I will work with it for as long as I have it, I just wouldn't do it again, I woud choose a different surgery, one more permanant.

$1 US in the less traveled spots .... up to $2 US in the resorty touristy spots.... happy beering!
  10. There is no debate about the fact that sodas are bad but there is some on the carbonation issue. My opinion was that if the doctor said no, even if ONE doctor said no, I wasn't going to do it. Why do it and not lose the full weight or hurt my band or pouch in the end. I self paid, so I am taking care of it and trying to be nice to it.
  11. I have heard of the pouch stretching although I have never actually heard from someone who's doctor told them they were overstretched. I would go see the doc for a visit and do a check to make sure all is good in bandland.
  12. yep, i agree... on an empty band (and for me not in the morning)
  13. I would say if you can get the water down and a lot of it, more power to ya!!! Wooooottt Woooooottt!!!
  14. oh yeah... and you will know it when you do.

  19. Hi Rosa, Welcome to LBT! And welcome to your weight loss journey to a healthier happier you!
  20. I SWEAR by Cocoa butter in the morning and Vit E pure oil at night. If you do it religiously you should notice a difference within a month. A friend of mine tried it by my suggestion and viola, they started to go away, not so noticable. I have done this regimin since I was in high school and I have gained and lost a bunch of times, and given birth.... and not much to holler about here. Unfortunately, stretch marks are from both gaining AND losing quickly.
  21. You don't even want me to comment on my day after, but I wasn't very typical. I had "special" circumstances. Ughhhh.... As for day 3 after surgery, I was painting my laundry room and pantry. Slowly and patiently, but still painting it. I was back to work by day 5 (again, slowly and patiently). By day 8-9 I was well on my way to doing anything light walking and moving and shakin'. By week 4 I was back to full duty as a police officer but I think that Week 6 would have suited me better. It was still a little too soon for the full activity. Week 7 was doing exercise and low impact aerobics. I took it easy on the stretching, pulling and jumping though until week 10. By 3 months, I was jogging a bit, not very far, but still jogging. Then by 3 months and one week I was fighting with my own mind to get off my lazy ass and go do something. Months 4-7 went well, then I reverted back to month 3 and 1 week activity.

Yep, sounds like both restriction and slimes to me. Might have been the bread. That kills a lot of us. Ugh, I hate the slimes. It always reminds me of that dinosaur in Jurassic Park that spits slime out of their mouth to kill that "thick" guy that was stealing the DNA in the Barbasol can!!
  23. Okay okay, I will break down and tell you.... Pouch packing is also known as "eating around the band". It is when you force in food because you want it rather than when you need it. It makes you feel all sickly full like you are a stuffed thanksgiving day turkey rather than satisfied. First you feel great because you ate all the food you wanted to, then you feel guilty... then you feel like crap because you over ate (we all know how that feels from pre band). When you take little sips of Water while you eat, you essentially push down the food from the upper pouch into the lower pouch, therefore eating more. Also, if you eat for 20 minutes, take a 10 minute break, eat more, then another 10 minute break, then more, and so on and so on.... therefore, "packing" your pouch and essentially overall stretching it as a muscle. And about the crack... "Crack" is the street name given to cocaine that has been processed from cocaine hydrochloride to a ready-to-use form for smoking. Rather than requiring the more dangerous method of processing cocaine using ether, crack cocaine is processed with ammonia or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and water and heated to remove the hydrochloride, thus producing a form of cocaine that can be smoked. The term "crack" refers to the crackling sound heard when the mixture is heated, presumably from the sodium bicarbonate. On the illicit market, crack, or "rock," is sold in small, inexpensive dosage units. Smoking this form of the drug delivers large quantities of cocaine to the lungs, producing effects comparable to intravenous injection. These effects are felt almost immediately after smoking, are very intense, and do not last long. The physical effects of coke are the same as any other stimulant drug -- except that the first rush is possibly much more intense. The initial effects are pleasant, they give the user increased confidence, a willingness to work, greater motivation, increased libido, and a euphoric rush or high. Over time, and with regular use, people may get paranoid, anxious, and confused, and sometimes they hallucinate. Insomnia, agitation, and depression can also result from frequent cocaine use.
  24. I have been pondering this thread almost a week now. Especially with what happened to Illsucceed recently I think this just needs to be pointed out. Christina's battle in the tanning bed is really something serious and scarey so I will just put it out there... if you heed it great, if not, then okay too.... I used to be a HUGE tanner. Then... I went to the doctor and had a chunk removed out of my back because of my exposures to the sun and occasional burning. I now know that it is safer to lather on the sunblock and protect my face from the sun to promote good aging and less wrinkles. Is being pale attractive? Maybe not, but neither was being fat and I worked that pretty well if I do say so myself. Just because it is society attractive does not mean it is in the long run. Prolonged exposure to the sun will give your skin a leathery and aged look. Sure, it is a healthy glow at first, then you will notice the changes later in years. Spend the 45 seconds to just spray the damn tan on if you want it that bad. http://womenshealth.about.com/cs/azhealthtopics/a/tanboothworthit.htm http://amos.indiana.edu/library/scripts/tanningbeds.html http://www.mercola.com/2001/jun/2/tanning_beds.htm http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/consumer/tanning.html http://www.cancer.org/docroot/NWS/content/NWS_1_1x_Tanning_Beds_May_Increase_Skin_Cancer_Risk.asp
  25. Can I go with you??? I will take his place and hold your hand and tell you all will be okay! Hell, if anyone wants me to go, I would go. My hubby had issues with me going to Mexico but we didn't fight about it. It was MY body, MY choice, not his. He stood in the background supportive or he could get the hell out of my background. Sorry, but this is just how I am. If you not going to be supportive in any final decisons I make about my body and my life then get the hell outta my way. Asking for a blessing or permission is not my style. He knew this when he married me and he loves me for it... I think.
