  1. so iluvharleys you say that you won't actually fill that restrictions until after a couple of weeks, even if you had gotten a first fill? i am very confused about it because i still can pretty much eat anything
  2. that is why they have the x-rays. and make sure that that screen is right in front of you so that you can see how the barium and water is going down. pretty interesting. but he was inserting the saline, i also took a cup of barium. he asked how did it fell going down. now my other question is, i am wondering if my doc. lied about how much saline he put in!!!
  3. sounds like he is not putting enough in there. i had my on past tuesday. my doc said that he put in 6cc and i am too hungry still. what in the world!!!!
  4. hi, i had my fill on last tuesday. i only need to go liquid for 24 hours and then slowly get back into the groove of things. my nurse even said that i can eat a little yogurt not with the fruit.
  5. Hi all; its been a minute since writing, but I just wanted to let you guys know that alls well. I got my 1st fill yesterday. He put 6cc in. I feel good and I am on my way to weight loss. hurray:clap2: He did tell me that if i wanted another fill to allow 2-4 months out that is if i needed one. that was one thing i didn't know that we have that option. i actually thought that it was always a scheduled fill. oh well that was good to know. anyway, i just wanted to spread my good news. thanks:p
  6. lolololololololol good one faithmd
  7. and in my experience that pb is because i haven't chewed my food well!!!!
  8. hey weightlossblues; remember that the lap band is only a tool. your stress eating is mental. i will tell you that you won't be able to lose weight and keep it off until you deal with your stress eating. good luck to you
  9. hi joanie; i too am from minnesota. you just got banded, your body is getting used to be cut up, stitched up and healing. give it some time, plus what kind of food are you eating to consume 1000 calories
  10. I agree with mermaid. u definitely have to wait those 30 minutes and chew very slowly. i mean chewing about 45-50 times before swallowing.
  11. my doctor said the same day as well but not to let it get the incisions soaked. so that means to me hurry up and wash the neccessary areas
  12. that's right get as much protein in as you can. r u able to start eating those smart ones, lean cuisines. i am addicted to looking at all sugars, protiens, fats, etc. they have about 13 grams or more protein in the meals
  13. i am so sorry to hear that olivia. we go through the fact that we will go through with no problems. are you more upset about going under again? other than that i encourage you to hang in there. trouble doesn't last long!!!
  14. i totally agree with you. only this mornining i made some scrambled eggs, 2 in fact with some oat bran bread. what in the world!!!!!!! and i don't have a fill yet; now that was out of habit!!! i couldn't finish it. my daughter bless her heart; because i believe in not wasting food decided to give it to the birds, squirrels instead
  15. i know its not more than you vixie but i had to lose 10lbs within 3 weeks. it came off i believe 2 days before surgery. i had to do the liquid diet as well as take a laxative. (fleet phosous)
  16. hi lizrbit, have u found a place closer so that you won't go so far? i am sure some other posters asked this question
  17. hi poodle, i am almost 2 week post-op. i am still on liquids and i do feel weak and tired.
  18. well said musicalmomma!!!!
  19. hi guys, i know that this thread has been posted plenty of times. i haven't found your answers. I wanted to know if i should call my nurse and ask if i can eat some soft food. i am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hungry:hungry: and yes this is hungry pain. she did mention that I need to stay on liquid diet for a little while, my first update since surgery is friday. i don't want to do anything that will cause trouble to the stitches
  20. i had surgery 6/9, lost only 6lbs. on liquid. i'm wondering why i'm not losing like you guys. but i also know that this is my healing stage.
  21. i actually started buying shirts in XL (clearance rack) even before thinking about the surgery. i always put jackets on to cover it up. now that the process has begun, i will be able to wear them alone. i will wait until the fall and see what's going on then
  22. vixie, that nutritionist is the big boss when it boils down to your surgery date. i remember gaining 6 lbs. before my scheduled date, she pecked some info. in that computer and when i met the surgeon he was like no, u need to lose it. basically mine's asked me what do i eat in a week. they just want to see if you will be and are committed to losing weight before sugery and even afterwards. just an extra piece of info., start a food journal. good luck to ya!!
  23. lolololol hopefull loser i knew that i wasn't off as well with the question
  24. hi lilly73, i went back after 4 days. i had the surgery on a saturday went back wednesday. believe you me, if you can suggest what some docs. say, 1 week then take it easy. your body is getting used to something foreign in it. i understand total healing at this point!!!!! just take it easy when you return.
  25. i agree with you jachut. i am 8 days after surgery and although my doc has kept me on the liquid diet, i did cheat last week (i was too hungry!!!) i ate a baked chicken drumstick i couldn't finish it although i was trying not to waste food and immediately i felt a discomfort and i haven't even had the first fill yet. (it is also due to the healing process) I just believe that although this band is a tool, it still hinges on your mindset to not want to indulge any longer
