2 weeks post-op and doing well

My name is Rhonda. I had surgery on June 13, so far so good. I have lost 20 pounds since June 1 when I started the pre-op diet. My incisions are healed and looking good. I don't have any pain, the only problem I seem to have is a heartburn feeling in my chest and constipation. I have been eating mashed potatoes, refried Beans, pudding, and egg salad. I have had some other things that weren't on my list, but very little. I need some new suggestions for things to eat. I am tired of Soup, yogurt, Jello, pudding, mashed potatoes. Any ideas??

I had surgery at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Wagner was my surgeon. The whole crew at Hurley Hospital and the Bariatric Clinic were fantastic. Thanks!!:)

Hi Rhonda,

I haven't started the pureed foods part of post-op -- I'm only four days out from surgery -- but I've already been thinking about what I can have in ten days (probably not the right way to look at things, but I've been on liquids for four weeks already so I can't wait for some substance). Some things I've come up with are: hummus, scrambled eggs (soft), applesauce, cream of wheat, blended meatballs, ricotta cheese (add some splenda or sugar free cocoa powder and it makes a good high Protein desert).

Hope these ideas help. Good luck!

sounds like you are doing great...you are two weeks out, so you should be starting pureed food....look for the post with all the different foods that you can have....and just hang in there....

that's right get as much protein in as you can. r u able to start eating those smart ones, lean cuisines. i am addicted to looking at all sugars, protiens, fats, etc. they have about 13 grams or more protein in the meals
