most ignorant reply
I hear ya about trying to explain to people. They still look at mr like i'm crazy. I even start to get a little ticked. Even trying to explain to my sistah-friend, she still was looking at me like i was crazy. then when all fails, i start to sound like i don't know what i'm talking about and then the conversation changes. (hee-hee) it works every time!!

Why is it that the surgeons are not filling!!!
thanks guys, i'm sure that a tech can do it, actually they would always want to come in and see how my surgeon did it. Its so busy around the office that they can't and so i'm stuck with surgeon. what i really love about him and the staff is that they are really hands on, concerning.

Minnesota MD's
very good!!!! i really couldn't tell you if it was him or dr. leslie that performed the surgery but they were patient and they told you what they expected from you as far as losing weight. I was going to do the gastric about 3 years ago, got to be a chicken then all of a sudden the lap band came into being. I researched for a year even before I decided to do it and I am glad that I did.

Where Did You Have Your Lap-band Done?
Dr. Leslie & Dr. Ikramuddin Abbott Northwestern Hospital Minneapolis, MN

Doctor overfilled me and refused to help me
I'm so sorry sar to hear about your situation. What I don't get is that since ins. cos. knows about the lap band and know that fills will be necessary then why won't they pay for all of it. that sounds like a bunch of crap to me. umph!!!!

Needle Phobia and Fills
Yes, the doctors does numb it. the numbness does come quickly because doc. just do it!!! there is a prick but nothing major. look away, have some conversation and before you know it, its done!!

Never heard this!!!???
Actually there was a movie that I saw before surgery about anethesia and what they actually do and why it was needed. I was of course a little concerned because when I got the tubing from having my daughter (c-section) my throat was killing me for a couple of days. But this time, all I had was a very dry throat.

Unsupportive friends
I know that's right. If you decided to base your decisions on what people say, u might as well be their clones.

i'm cheating.....already
I agree with lynn marie. there is always another day. I have to admit that I haven't been on my best behavior. I've come to realize that I can't worry about what I did yesterday or even the day before; and to be honest, I don't know what tomorrow will bring so I can't even worry about that as well. Doing it one day at a time is always best. But since you have all these people on here for support and you see the difference, you can't go wrong for tooo long. Good luck girlfriend!!!

Its been a while but I am back
Thanks guys for the responses. I've had 4 fills from august to this last one in october. So I did ask my doctor and he confirmed it works differently for everybody.

How much weight should I expect to lose a week
I agree with loser28. its 1-2lbs. per week. No more than 4lbs. per month. Yes, it will come off at its right time

Info
Hi Antsmith; well my ins. only paid 80% although I could of sworn it was gonna be 100%. I started my journey in January and got surgery in June. I was kinda mad because they said that it would be a 3-4 months turn around but since I had gained 10lbs during that time, my doctor (with his nice self) said that he wasn't gonna do it until I can lose it!!! well I lost it and the rest if history and I love it, love it, love it!!!

Humiliation
